🐾 FUN ANIMAL YOGA CHALLENGE 👣

#AloAnimalSouls

LAST DAY - favorite animal pose

I don’t have a favorite animal pose but I do like the feeling of Fish pose on a yoga wheel. I just played 18 holes of golf and in golf, you’re hunched over a lot looking at your ball. It feels really good to come home and stretch the front side of my body. The wheel makes it feel nice and supported and I can relax into it. Feels great 👍

Here we are at day 8 already! These types of challenges are so fun!!! Thank you so much to the gallery of animals on the Ark! I loved meeting all your babies! Thank you to the wonderful hosts and our generous solo sponsor for gathering this special community 🫶

DAY 7 SOCIALITY 🐬 dolphin pose
#ardhapinchamayurasana

This is Corona, our very first dog. She is the oldest of our three Goldens 🐕🐕🐕
We chose golden retrievers to be our first pets because they are super social, very intuitive and incredibly gentle with children.
Corona is almost 13 yrs old. She was recently diagnosed with cancer. She had two tumors that we had scheduled to remove but before the surgery day arrived, the bigger tumor became very big and very angry. It started bleeding out so we had to go into surgery right away.
The tumor ended up being so much more invasive than the vet thought. They didn’t even take the second tumor out as they did not want to keep her under too long.
The results from pathology came back showing that the cancer was in her lymph nodes. We are going to have the second tumor removed bcz it is protruding on her shoulder. I think after that we don’t want to do anymore. 😢 We don’t want to put her through chemo, all the medication and all the blah blah blah that comes with that.
You would never know that Corona was sick. When her arthritis isn’t bothering her, she loves going for doggy walks in neighborhood and car rides to new places! I’m not a runner but she likes to sometimes. She poops me out! 🐕 🏃🏻‍♀️ 🥵

People have been telling me that you know when it’s time. Your dog will let you know.
These Goldens are our first pets so every experience is a new experience for us. I hope they’re right 🙏

🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

DAY 6 HAPPINESS Puppy pose #uttanashishosana

This is Ginny. She came to live with us after my son’s friend decided he didn’t want to take care of a guinea pig anymore! She had many happy years with us. She was very social and vocal. Whenever I needed to clean her cage, I would put her in my pup’s crate. My pup, BlueMoon, is very loving, sweet and gentle. My other Goldens are also but never bonded with Ginny this way.
I always knew that when it was time to clean the stinky guinea pig cage that there was at least something super sweet to look forward to.

RIP Ginny 🙏🩷

DAY 5 🐢 tortoise pose #kurmasana

This pose isn’t part of my practice. I watched a YouTube video and tried it. This kitty isn’t really my kitty either. I want a kitty but my husband says no because we have three golden retrievers. 🐕 🐕 🐕

This is Loki. He is my grand kitty that I get to kitty sit when his parents travel. 👏

He is super smart and very energetic but at the end of the day, he’s very calm and cuddly.

Can’t wait to see your fur babies!

DAY 3 WISDOM 🐘 elephant trunk pose
#ekahastabhujasana

Yesterday, you met Buddy. This is his sister, BlueMoon.

……so we were told. 🤔 or should I say “sold”

Aren’t they so adorable at eight weeks old! 💓💙 They are 10 yrs old now.

As they got older, we noticed that they did not look the same at all. They actually looked very different so much that we wondered if BLUEmoon was even a golden retriever!

So we had them DNA tested.
Results…. 🥁

What!? They don’t even share ONE parent!!!! Well, at least they are full blooded Goldens‼️ ✔️✔️

When we had them tested, they were 6 months old and already totally bonded to each other. To this very day, they do everything together; eat, cuddle, sleep, play, groom……
They would definitely be a little lost without the other. They don’t care about DNA tests at all, they just care about each other. They feel in their hearts as though they are one. It’s really sweet and we can’t imagine not having them together.

Tomorrow, I’ll introduce you to their older sister, Corona.

Can’t wait to see your babies! 🐕 🐈 🐦 🐐 🐴

DAY 2 BEAUTY 🦋 butterfly pose #baddhakonasana

Butterfly flaps, really good for the hips.
And puppy kisses, really good for the heart ♥️

This is Buddy, one of my three Goldies. He chose me to be his human. I’m so lucky. He always watches me and waits for me. He moans and groans, he talks to me. He’s a leaner and a protector ( as much as a golden can be 😂)

Tomorrow, I will introduce you to Buddy’s sister(s).
Can’t wait to see your babies!

DAY 1 STRENGTH 🦍 gorilla pose #padahastasana

Definitely one of my faves especially for wrist relief. Stepping on my hands and massaging my wrists with my toes feels really good. Being upside down also helps to calm my mind.

One of my go to poses!

DAY 8 Yogi’s choice
- Celebrate your journey and lean into growth.

#handstand - I remember when I first discovered these challenges. The line ups often included handstand which made me sigh bcz I didn’t know how to go upside down on hands. 😮‍💨
🧠 I told myself that I was going to learn. I think I learned way more about myself in that process 😂 and here I am today, ten years later, still discovering myself.

Happy #toetap #tuckittuesday ‼️

Thank you to the beautiful hosts, our solo generous sponsor and the incredible gallery of yogis 🙏 I have enjoyed seeing all your posts and I especially loved reading what was on your mind. Thank you for sharing your practices and supporting mine 🙏🫶 It’s always better together!

DAY 7 Heart Opener – Be open and vulnerable.

I don’t like the thought of backbends but I love the feeling of front body opening. 🤷🏻‍♀️

#Matsyasana on a yoga wheel totally opens up the heart space 🫶

DAY 6 Funky Pose – Play, explore, and stay curious.

I saw this #funkyeightanglepose on YouTube so I wanted to try it.

It’s been raining, windy and gloomy for 4 days so far. #nor’easter

My body feels stiffer and heavier. I wasn’t too sure if I could lift off the mat today. The rain makes me feel a little achy. And really tired. I slept late, then napped throughout Sunday 😂 Then I slept a full night’s sleep!
Less sunlight tells your brain to produce more melatonin, which makes you sleepy. It lowers your serotonin too, which makes you feel less alert and kind of in a down mood, the drop in the air pressure makes you feel sluggish, the sound of the rain is relaxing……
All set up for napping 💤 lol😂

Looking forward to some sun ☀️
