always the toughest goodbye… until next time, japan 💔

so much good to reflect on as I leave this country again. losing my japanese at 4 meant losing the ability to connect with my grandparents in the way i always wanted to for myself and for them 🥺 it’s something i’ve grieved for years, and one of the biggest reasons i finally dedicated time to learning japanese again, even with everything else going on in life.

being able to finally have deep conversations with my grandmother who is so much like me, and my usually quiet grandfather, and finally express all the things i’ve always wanted to tell them my whole life, was one of my biggest life goals. 🥹

to be honest, a part of me wishes I had done this sooner, but i’m so incredibly grateful i finally did. ❤️
if you read all that, thank you 🥹 by @leinakarisa
