I was walking down a street in Shimokitazawa proudly marching to the film store to develop the film I’d been sitting on for at least six months. I was convinced I’d round it back.. I opened the back & in a flash 💥 I’d burnt the film, right over those incredible four days remembering 2024 & welcoming in 2025 at the Colo River; Dharug & Darkinjung land with community, on Country, in love.

While I was initially disappointed, I reminded myself to embrace the beauty of imperfection. I’ve now become quite fond of the way the warm tones of reds, pinks & yellows visually represent the kind of aura I associate with this time, this place, these people.

Half a rotation in, I am realising the manifestations we cast on that sandy bank on December 31st and, well, what I mean to say is..
