I still remember the day I walked by this Irving Penn photograph at the @metmuseum . I was stopped in my tracks unable to move past it. Even though he shot this for Vogue in 1947 it looks wildly modern, a perfect encapsulation of a woman, and the many messy and beautiful facets of her life, the best “what’s in my bag” I had ever seen. This photo cemented my love for Penn’s work and has lived rent free in my mind ever since. This was my starting point for our Fall 26 collection.
