Summer 2026!! Camp Eagle summer number 5!! While Camp Eagle is a huge piece of my walk with Christ, it would just be a fun, silly memory if God was not involved. In the words of the wise Matt Reed, Camp Eagle is just a pretty pile of rocks. What an incredible God to use a pretty pile of rocks to teach so many campers and staff about His love and glory!! Camp Eagle is a place that God used to bless me with God-fearing friends that push me to live a Christ-like life, mentors who I can look up to, lean on, and learn what a life that glorifies God looks like, and a deep love and appreciation for spending time in His creation. This summer, Ecclesiastes taught me that God’s timing and will are absolutely perfect, and in all His sovereignty and power He truly wants what’s best for us, which is a closer relationship with Him. I got to witness this truth play out in such unique ways at camp!! I saw it in the way that He called me very specifically to every job I had over the summers, from juco to counselor to guide to p-head. I saw it in the way that every single camper and staff member was so intentionally placed at camp exactly when God knew they needed to be there. I saw it in the way that He used every single part of working at camp to glorify Him, from leading campers in Bible studies and telling them about the Gospel to cleaning dishes and backing a trailer. How blessed am I that he allowed me to be a part of it for five summers!! How blessed am I to walk away from summer #5 with countless testimonies of God using outdoor adventure, authentic relationships, and biblical truth to change campers’ lives (and mine)!!

Psalms 96:1-6
Oh sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth! Sing to the Lord, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the Lord made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary. by @lelkins05

A sleeping pad without a crease,
on a setting of utter peace.
Laying softly in the shady grove,
with food from the MSR stove.
No dreams are too lofty,
for dreamers fueled by coffee.
Vulnerability flowing at its best,
when all are nearing quiet rest.
With a friends gentle word,
we all will rise before the birds.
Hiking all day in the summers heat,
each of us want something to eat.
Paddling, praying for a port,
wanting a feast of chicken tort.
As all are pushed by different winds,
I pray that this group is always friends.
