Having spent nearly 50 years gracing some of the world’s biggest stages, you may be familiar with Le Maitre’s expertise and pioneering work in pyrotechnics and special effects. The company developed the Pyroflash system, considered the world’s first professional indoor pyrotechnic effect, and remains a global supplier of multiple markets, with offices on both sides of the Pond. Still under the same family ownership as when it was founded in 1977, Le Maitre has built a reputation for innovation and reliability. What is far less well known, however, is that in the early 1980s, Le Maitre had its own in-house record label.

In 1982, Le Maitre Music released Fools Are Friendly by Xclusiv – a disco-synth-pop track performed by sisters Karen and Maxine Berlinski, who today continue to run the family business. More than four decades later, the track has been rediscovered and reissued by Erol Alkan on his Phantasy Sound label, introducing it to a new audience ⏺️

A quick clip from a recent WWE show featuring our Mines and Comets in action.

Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss certainly got the crowd on their feet, and we're proud to see our products playing a small part in helping create moments like these.

Huge credit to the production teams behind the show and to our client @StrictlyFX for putting our products to work on some of the biggest live events in the world.

Le Maitre Ltd once launched its very own record label - Le Maitre Music.

Back in 1982, the label released a disco track that captured the energy of the era… and decades later, it’s been rediscovered and championed by none other than @erolalkan

✨ Even better - the artists behind the track were Maxine Berlinski (now Wilson) and Karen Berlinski (now Cornacchia), who are still owners and running Le Maitre today.

A brilliant piece of company history, and proof that great music always finds its way back.

We’re excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to make 2026 even bigger.
Watch this space 🚀

Does anything signify Autumn more than Strictly being back on our screens? We’re over the moon to see it return and even better to spot our pyro on the big stage again. Tom & Amy’s performance truly electrified the dance floor and our Robotics added that extra pop.

Thanks to the @ataccgroup for inviting us to their amazing course this weekend. We loved showing them how our products could help bring another element of realism to their simulations. Looking forward to working with them again at the Emergency Services Show.
