@SceneTraveller: Cairo, for all its grandeur, can sometimes feel like the world’s loudest street party, with the never-ending clamour of a city that never seems to stop moving. But every so often, just when you think you’ve seen it all, you stumble upon something that feels like a gentle sigh amidst the madness. Like that forgotten corner of your favorite café, where the susurrate of conversation fades and you’re suddenly surrounded by comfort. And that is exactly what you’ll find at Egypt’s newest (and newly-refurbished) boutique hotel and residence: Villa Atouta - Lemon Spaces.

Tucked away in the heart of Cairo’s foodie area of Maadi on the ever-buzzing Road 9, behind a wall adorned with bougainvillea, this two-building villa is where the city’s frenzy fades into the background, melting into trees swaying over a turquoise pool, the only soundtrack the clink of ice in your hibiscus tea.
