The biggest opportunities I find usually aren’t flashy.

They’re the little moments that make a client think,

“Damn… that was easy.”

That’s the work I love.

I’ve stopped believing founders are control freaks.

Most of them are responding to a business that’s become dependent on them

The business grew

The support structure didn’t

And eventually, the founder became the system…

Maybe you didn’t lose confidence.

Maybe you’re just learning how to build trust without a job title doing it for you.

I thought leaving corporate would be the hardest part.

It wasn’t.

For over a decade, my experience spoke before I had to. People saw the title, the teams I led, and the results. There was already a level of trust before I ever walked into the room.

Building LEN has been different.

Not because I question the work I do.

I know the value I bring.

What’s been different is learning how to put years of experience into words… without a job title doing the talking for me.

Turns out, “Head of…” is a lot easier to explain than…

“Wait… so what do you actually do?” 😂

I’ve realized my resume used to do a lot of the talking.

Now my brand has to.

Nobody really tells you that part.

They just tell you to “start the business.” 😂

So… here I am.

Figuring it out in real time.

If you’re doing the same, stick around. I think we’re going to get along. 🤍

Most founders don’t need to work harder.

They need a business that stops asking them to remember every damn thing.

If this felt a little too familiar… you’re my kind of people. 🤍

Follow along. We’ve got lots to unpack.

☕ Sunday Behind the Scenes | Episode 001

I thought it’d be fun to start something new.

Every Sunday, I’m sharing one thing I’ve noticed after years working behind the scenes with growing businesses.

No fluff.
No “5 tips before breakfast.”
Just real patterns I keep seeing over and over again.

This week’s observation?

People rarely come to me asking for an onboarding playbook.

Or a hiring framework.

Or clearer expectations for their team.

They usually come to me saying things like…

“I’m overwhelmed.”

“This team member just isn’t getting it.”

“Something feels off.”

“I don’t know where to start.”

That’s where my brain starts working differently.

I’m not just looking at today’s problem.

I’m asking…

What’s creating this?

Because most of the time, the thing they’re struggling with isn’t the real problem.

It’s the symptom.

If we only fix today’s problem, there’s a good chance we’ll be fixing it again six months from now.

I’d rather solve the pattern.

That’s where businesses actually start to feel lighter.

See you next Sunday. ☕🤍

For 12 years, I chased what I thought success was supposed to look like.

Promotions.

Bigger teams.

More responsibility.

The next opportunity.

And to be fair… I loved it.

Then I became a mom.

Not overnight. Not in one big life-changing moment.

Slowly.

I started noticing I was physically home… but mentally still at work.

Replaying conversations.

Thinking about tomorrow.

Carrying work into moments that deserved all of me.

That was the part I couldn’t ignore.

Today, I’m still ambitious.

I still want to build something meaningful.

I just don’t want it to cost me this.

That’s probably why I’m so passionate about helping founders build businesses that don’t depend on them for every little thing.

Not because I think women should work less.

Because I think we deserve to be fully present for the life we’re working so hard to build.

🤍

At one point in my life, I genuinely thought founders just… founded things. 😂

I mean…

Come up with the idea.

Build the business.

Lead the team.

You know… founder stuff.

Then I started working behind the scenes.

Turns out she’s also…

Marketing.

Finance.

HR.

IT.

Operations.

Sales.

Customer service.

Content.

Reception.

And, on some days… therapist. 😅

No wonder she’s exhausted.

One of the biggest things I brought with me from corporate wasn’t leadership.

It was this:

No successful business expects one person to be great at everything.

I don’t know why we’ve decided founders should be.

One thing I’ve noticed working behind the scenes…

Nobody wakes up one day carrying everything.

It happens slowly.

One client.
One process.
One “I’ll just do it myself.”

Then another.

And another.

Until one day your business feels heavier than it needs to.

That’s why I care so much about the work happening behind the scenes.

Not because I love systems… (although I genuinely do 😂).

I just don’t think founders are meant to carry every part of their business forever.

There’s a better way.

And honestly… that’s the work I love most. 🤍

A founder asked me for a few questions to help guide an important conversation with a team member.

Totally reasonable ask.

I could’ve typed up an email, hit send, and crossed it off my list.

But I couldn’t stop thinking about what would happen after that conversation.

Because if the expectations still lived in her head…
If every new hire started from scratch…
If she had to keep repeating the same conversations…

…then today’s problem wasn’t actually solved.

So I built something she’d be able to use again.

Not next week.

Not next month.

For every person who joins her business moving forward.

Years behind the scenes taught me to think beyond the task.

I don’t just think about what’s needed today.

I’m thinking about the next hire.
The launch six months from now.
The systems quietly keeping the business moving.

The things that save founders hours, create consistency, and stop the same problems from showing up over and over again.

That’s the work I love most.

Not because it’s the biggest project.

Because sometimes three hours of building the right thing can save someone hundreds of hours later.

🤍

One thing that’s surprised me since starting this business?

The moments that stick with me most, have nothing to do with the KPI.

Don’t get me wrong…

Watching a client surpass her first five-figure month was pretty freaking cool!!

Buuut it wasn’t my favourite part.

My favourite moment was hearing she took a full day off.

Three months ago, that wouldn’t have happened.

Not because there was less work to do.
(There wasn’t.)

The difference was she finally felt comfortable stepping away.

The work was still there.

She just wasn’t carrying it all by herself anymore.

I spent over a decade in corporate where success was measured by deliverables, targets, and performance.

Those things still matter.

But somewhere along the way, my definition of success changed.

Now I celebrate the numbers…

and the founder who finally takes a Saturday off.

The client who stops checking emails at dinner.

The woman who realizes her business can keep moving even when she isn’t.

To me, that’s what sustainable growth looks like.

Not just building a bigger business.

Building one that gives something back. 💛

Letting someone else into your business does feel risky.

I know.

No one is going to care about it the way you do. And when you’ve built the whole thing from the ground up, letting someone into the backend can feel uncomfortable as hell.

Here’s what I know from working behind the scenes in founder businesses:

Keeping it all to yourself doesn’t actually make the business safer. It usually just makes the business more dependent on you.

Your brain.
Your follow-up.
Your approvals.
Your memory.
Your availability.

After a while, that starts costing you.

Not just in time or energy: in how much the business can actually grow without you carrying every moving piece of it.

That’s the part I care about most in my work.

Not just “helping out” behind the scenes.
Helping women untangle the parts of the business that still rely on them for every next move.
The business feels lighter to run, clearer behind the scenes, and less dependent on them for everything.

If letting go feels hard, I don’t think that means you’re doing business wrong.

I think it usually means you haven’t had the right support in the room yet. 💛
