A multi-day destination wedding is an experience that should build in chapters.

The welcome dinner isn't just a preliminary meal on the schedule, it is the foundation of the entire weekend. It is the exact moment your guests transition from travel mode into celebration mode, and more importantly, the moment you finally let go of the logistics and step into being the guest of honor.

When we designed this intimate kickoff on the terrace at Albergo Terminus, the objective was entirely about the guest experience. Because we take the time to deeply understand our couples, their values, their lifestyle, and how they love to host. This is why we knew exactly how to translate Laura and Michael's vision into reality. They envisioned an evening that felt deeply personal, understated, and authentic to Lake Como: an effortless, vine-draped evening that allowed everyone to connect deeply before the grandeur of the wedding day unfolded.

Achieving that level of unhurried, "effortless" elegance actually requires immense behind-the-scenes precision. From collaborating with @lakecomoflorist to meticulously styling the layout to harmonize with the venue’s classic architecture, every detail was calibrated to protect our couple’s peace of mind.

My hometown newspaper recently published an in-depth feature about my journey with Lena Freitag Weddings – a moment that brought an overwhelming sense of gratitude and reflection..

Beyond business, the piece by the @sp_gt_ captures the heart of my story: why I moved to Ireland, how I found my fulfillment here, & how this country became my home.

Truthfully, the decision to relocate was because Ireland simply felt like home. I was drawn to the country & its people, while recognizing immense potential within the local wedding industry.

Yet, I could never have anticipated how rapidly the business would evolve. When I first arrived, my intention was to maintain Germany & Italy as our primary markets while managing operations from here. Today, designing high-end celebrations across Germany & Italy remains a vital & sophisticated part of our portfolio. However, Ireland swiftly & naturally grew to become our main market.

This dual footprint is precisely what sets us apart. Today, Ireland stands as one of the world's premier, globally watched "it" destination wedding countries. I feel incredibly privileged that our team is uniquely positioned to help international couples experience the legendary warmth of Irish hospitality, our historic venues, & dramatic landscapes, translating them into bespoke, multi-day celebrations.

Interestingly, our international clients often share that they choose to trust Lena Freitag Weddings not only because of our background in design, international experience, or German precision, but because I intentionally chose Ireland as my home for the exact same reasons they are choosing it for their wedding day: the uncompromised love for this country.

Because I made that conscious choice to build my life & business here, our team serves as the ultimate bridge. We intimately understand what a couple sees in Ireland from the outside, while deeply commanding the nuances of the local culture & luxury industry from the inside.

A wedding weekend in Dublin with Olivia & Kevin.
From the timeless elegance of the city to the dramatic cliffs of Howth, every part of this celebration felt deeply personal and full of emotion. The sea, the wind and the Irish landscape created such a beautiful contrast to the refined atmosphere of their wedding day.

One of my favourite things about destination weddings is getting to document not only the wedding itself, but also the connection couples have to a place. For Olivia & Kevin, returning to Ireland and celebrating surrounded by their favourite people made the entire weekend feel incredibly meaningful.

Stop scrolling if you're planning a 2027 wedding

At Lena Freitag Weddings, luxury isn’t just about the aesthetic, it’s about the strategy. For our couples, a wedding is a high-stakes production where reputation and experience are paramount. We act as your strategic shield.

Here are 3 compromises we never make for our clients:

1️⃣ The Instagram Illusion: We never book a venue based on photos alone. A location might be a 10 on Instagram but a 2 on logistics. If you can’t be there, our team acts as your eyes, ears, and "nose", auditing the invisible details like power capabilities, acoustic flow, and back-of-house access. If it doesn't work operationally, it doesn't work for you.

2️⃣ The "Middleman" Burden: We never let our couples become the project managers of their own events. Fragmented communication between dozens of vendors is where luxury falls apart. Our role is to be your single point of tactical contact, managing the high-level coordination so you can remain the guest of honor, not the middleman.

3️⃣ Bespoke over Trend and Tradition: We never suggest a detail just because it’s "trending." Modern luxury is deeply personal. If a tradition, like a formal cake cutting or bouquet toss, doesn't align with your personality, we remove it. For our 2027 couples, we are looking past current fads to curate an experience that reflects your legacy, not a Pinterest board.
