Hello ☀️

I've been looking through my camera roll....and reflecting over my painting journey!
It's been pretty interesting.

If you are new here 👋🏼 say hi 😊 or..say hi in any case!
.
So...I come from a creative background I say...having been a professional dancer in Sweden in my younger years up until 23 years old, when I switched to study creative writing and journalism. I then had a few years doing that alongside my passion for photography and documentary film making.
I was also involved with a theatre and was doing choreography and assisted the director.

I had a true passion for creative pursuits!
.
Moving fast forward with a career in retail management within fashion/homeware and design in Stockholm and London, I ended up in Brighton 2008 and took up my creativity again for real 2012 with photography and jewellery making 😀
.
So...when did I start to paint you wonder?
Well...I did lifedrawing a lot as a 21 year old...and then kind of dropped it a few years later.
.
I was just deciding one day in Brighton...2017...that I really wanted to get back to my creativity...fed up with office work...so...I did!

I got involved with the local Etsy group, Artist Open Houses and was starting to sell my work on markets in London and Brighton.
.
I say it's my curiosity & determination that has taken me places in life.
Never afraid of knocking on doors and always willing to go the extra mile.
.
So...thank you for following me here!

8. I had my first instagram 'influencer' buying and sharing my work @littlebigbell 2019
9. I had a studio space @surfacegallery for a short period ( but I couldn't stand the chilly winter...)
10. My pufferjacket in said studio
11 + 12 2019 work
13. Lockdown 2020
14 and onwards....progression up until today.

You even came home to my door to collect already

Such a beautiful way to bow out for my sabattical!
.
I still have messages to read and will do it first thing.

I will do a new quick video and upload to My Stories around 9am of what's left of the art.
.
Sometimes it feels so lonely and deserted to hang out on this app...but when it comes to it and you show up....wow!
.
Forever grateful 🙏

Also...a few of you have asked if I will stop making art?
Noooo, I'm just taking a long breather...trying to figure out how to move forward with my art practice.

Well...Im plugging this myself 😬 as no-one is really coming...to...do...it..for..me ~ as Mel would say. ( although, some very lovely people are sharing this! 🙏)

It's a chance to pick up some sunshine Art before my sabattical ☀️☀️☀️

These smaller work will be great on a Gallery wall or as a standout piece ( because smaller work with the right framing can just look 👌🏻)
Or why not gift someone a piece of Art!

Tomorrow is Friday:)

Are you ready for this Saturday?!

I truly have raided my drawers this time and there are LOADS of Art to be had:)
.
Mostly smaller work up to A4 size.
I even found some cats 😸
A3 giclee prints on the second image.
Mini canvas on the 3rd.
(I have a few smaller ones!)
.
10am in My Stories, Saturday 3rd October.

Husband said to me yesterday...why don't you spend the evening painting 🥰
He is the best.
He can see.
He knows.
.
All the colours.
Out of curiosity.
.
My art practise will look like this over winter.
I will take an hour or 2 here and there to keep sane.

Hello 👋🏼

I had a little meltdown this week as I've been craving my Art practice 😥 I guess I'm into a sort of grief process...leaving my ART behind to do a 9-5 and then being so tired for the important things....
Like Art, music, culture...
The things that makes us human.

I just need to remind myself..it's not a choice.
It's a must.
It's for survival.

The tide will turn and I can make a different choice at a later stage.
But for now... it's like this.
.
I'm sure there are more of you out there that has to sacrifice freedom and creativity...just to pay your mortgage, bills and food!
.

Tidied up my studio
Had a coffee out with husband
Found a cat
And loads of Giclee prints

😊

And...now I'm going to clean my fridge and call my parents in Sweden.

Having the best day playing Gallery and photographing work that I will have on offer
Saturday 3rd October 😊
I'm sure going to miss this when taking the break!
.
So many have contacted me to ask why I'm leaving....well..Im not really leaving my ART...but...Im worn out from having a day job...AND hustle hard to sell my Art...its come to a peak...and Im tired.
I really need a break.
.
Wouldn't I rather continue my Art and ditch my dayjob?...yes! Of course....Is it realistic??
No.
Sadly not.
Times have changed.
.
So...I have accepted it.
It's not a defeat.
But...I need a re-set.
I need time to think.
.
You can support me by coming along 3rd October and give some of my art a home

It will be smaller original work and giclee prints.
