From just a girl who liked to paddle to become an Olympian 🤯🥺

Growing up in a country without any whitewater, I never imagined I’d be the first ever woman in canoe to represent the Netherlands at the Olympics 🧡

Racing in an Olympic semifinal, with my family, friends, and 12,000 other supporters cheering me on, was a moment I’ll remember forever. 🥺❤️

While the result wasn’t exactly what I aimed for, it’s only giving motivation for more 🔥

Merci, @paris2024 for the unforgettable experience✨🫶

🥈 at the Hangzhou Supercup 🇨🇳

Happy to finish the season like this🔥
P2 in cross, P5 in slalom

So grateful for this unforgettable China experience with the canoeslalom family 🩵

Who would’ve thought that a little Dutch girl paddling on a lake would one day be invited to China? 🤯🇨🇳 by @lenateunissen

Sometimes you give everything, prepare as well as you can, and it still doesn’t come together. That’s sport, especially in canoe slalom.
It was not the European Championship I was looking for.
P18 canoe, P22 in kayak, p14 in cross

After the summer break, I’ve been struggling mentally to find the same mindset, confidence and flow again.

However I’m proud of my journey this year, to finish 4th at the World Cup and to have raced quite a few finals this year. I’m still searching for that final click. I know there is more to give.

I’m mentally and physically exhausted after a very long season. For now, I’m going to enjoy the very last race of the year in China 🇨🇳

One more race to enjoy and to give everything I have before having some needed rest for the body and mind

Thankyou @ivreacanoaclub for the big show🇮🇹🩵
Thankyou @tsakmakis_christos for joining my journey
Thankyou for the team behind 🫶
