Fall fashion, but make it a LIFESTYLE! 🍂✨💁🏽‍♀️

A little recap of my looks over the past couple of weeks because one thing about me, I’m going to GET DRESSED! 👠

Between being an entrepreneur, working in corporate fashion, and being a professor, I wear a lot of hats, and my wardrobe reflects every version of me!

I’ve always believed in dressing the way I want to be addressed. 💅🏽 But I also believe that personal style should reflect how you feel, not just what you do. Some days I’m playing with bold colors, some days I’m keeping it simple, and other days comfort is the priority. Either way, I’m showing up as ME!

For me, fashion is about confidence, creativity, comfort, and self-expression. Because when you look good, you feel good, and how you show up for yourself matters! ❤️

#ThrowbackThursday to October 2020 — six years ago, in my newly opened studio, doing something that has become such an important part of who I am: teaching. 🖤✂️

In this private draping class, we were starting with the foundation—blocking the fabric before you ever begin draping. Understanding the grain, balancing your muslin, and preparing your fabric correctly may seem like small steps, but they make all the difference in how a garment ultimately falls on the body.

Looking back at this moment is special because I was really beginning to hone in on my teaching style and realizing just how much I loved helping others understand their craft—not just showing how to do something, but explaining the why behind it.

Six years later, teaching is still one of the most fulfilling parts of my journey. From private classes to college classrooms, I still get excited watching that lightbulb go off when someone finally understands a technique. 🧵✨

The spaces may have changed, but the mission hasn’t: learn the foundation, understand your craft, and build from there.

Experience is elite. ✨

Some things can’t be explained, taught, Googled, or understood from the outside looking in. You have to live it. Feel it. Move through it.

And once you’ve experienced certain rooms, certain levels, certain love, certain peace, certain opportunities… your perspective changes.

It’s not about thinking you’re better than anyone. It’s about knowing that experience gives you a level of understanding that observation never will.

Some things just hit different when you’ve actually lived them.

Such a beautiful experience at Sip N’ Slay! From hearing the inspiring journeys of Black women creatives and entrepreneurs, to shopping an amazing marketplace of Black-owned brands, to creating my own signature perfume — the entire experience was a vibe. 🖤

And can we talk about the resort theme?! The girls came DRESSED, the energy was beautiful, and the room was filled with creativity, ambition, and Black excellence.

There’s something special about being in spaces where Black women can connect, create, celebrate, and inspire one another. More of THIS. ✨
