Seeing how sky high property prices are now, always fill my gratitude jar up for our decision to go for a Resale first nest.

Actually I believe not many around us know that we actually gotten a Q number to a BTO back then during covid year to Dakota One project. Yessi the one walking distance near Dakota mrt station and old airport food market. The one that’s probably just less than 7-9 mins drive to town/city.

So what made us decide on Resale?

We discussed and felt we really wanted to own a home now instead of the uncertain wait / project delay during covid for the bto.

During our house hunting, we met 2 types of agents!

First type:
Go for the D1 project! In 10 years time (5 years to build and 5 years of minimal occupancy MOP), sure flip! Earn $! Even if you want to rent, sure can rent then prep for your 2nd private property! Meanwhile if don’t mind, rent temporary accommodation while waiting.

Second type:
What are you looking at this stage of life? Looking for personal space after newlywed life before family planning? What’s your comfortable monthly budget commitment ? Do you prefer to stay near parents?

One of them: no matter bto or resale, most importantly don’t over stretch your budget at the expense of cutting down a lifestyle that you love.

1.5 years now have passed, all I can say I’m very very glad that we took the resale route. (We didn’t have COV back then too and managed to nego a $35k down for this just MOP Blk from asking price with 3 months extension to seller) Reno and furniture shopping with Benny was fun!!!! Thankful our taste not soooo wide apart hahaha!!!! The only hiccup probably is the delay in Reno due to tight covid restrictions.

The space , the peace and just the joy of own home own space really priceless. It’s definitely a very healthy balance between 二人世界的小窝 and the bustling atmosphere 热闹人气 back in our parents home.

We decided to keep the news of our little bundle of joy to ourselves at first, until we had safely made it through the first trimester. 🫶🏻

Of course, a part of us wanted to share the happy news immediately! But alongside all that excitement came the little worries and endless “what ifs…” so we chose to hold this precious secret close to our hearts for just a little longer.

The first weekend of April was an especially emotional one for us, because we finally got to share the news with both sides of our families. 🥹🌷 After keeping it between the two of us for months, seeing everyone’s reactions and happiness made the moment feel even more real.

And with NIPT nowadays, we were also able to find out our baby’s gender early which meant we could turn the occasion into a little gender reveal too! 🎀

We were asked if we wanted to throw a gender reveal party, but this time, we felt like keeping things simple and intimate.

No big party, no elaborate setup , just us, our families, and one very special piece of news we had been waiting so patiently to share.🥹🌷

Sometimes, the simplest moments become the ones you remember the most. 🫶🏻❤️

A bonus look unlocked! 🤍

I remember vividly that one of the things most out of my comfort zone was showing this much skin. 🥹

Among all the looks, I’ll dedicate this one to myself ~ to truly embrace what my body has grown into and appreciate how hard it has worked to grow a little one inside me. 🥹🙏🏻🫶🏻

Protecting her with all its might until the day she arrives safely into this world. 🤍

I may or may not get to see this baby bump again in the future, but I’m definitely thankful for this one that came into my life in 2026. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Another #GRWM session at Week 28! 😊

This KL trip was a really meaningful one for us ~ not only were we having our maternity shoot there, but we also had a very important dinner to attend.

And it was during that dinner that I finally got to share the good news with some of my closest peers ~ our little one is on the way! 🌷

Imagine keeping this little secret low-key for the past 7 months! 🤭 We really wanted to keep things private for a while and, more importantly, share the news personally with the people close to us.

It was also my first time ever flying overseas in my third trimester. We even needed a doctor’s letter to certify that I was fit to fly! 🥹There was so much to prepare and pack, all while dealing with constant nausea and a very unpredictable appetite.

And as if that wasn’t enough… I was also down with a really bad flu and sore throat during the trip. 🥹

Definitely not the easiest trip, but I’m so thankful we made it through. And I’m so glad Benny supported my decision too to make this trip happened. ❤️

A memorable trip for so many reasons , our maternity shoot, sharing our happy news in person, and making another little memory together before we become a family of three. 🥰

First maternity shoot experience & tips❤️

POV: Sharing some tips from my experience as both a mua who was also 28 weeks into her #pregnancy. This period onwards is also prefered for photoshoot as belly is at a more obvious angle for pictures)😇

📸 Photographer portfolios are super helpful when it comes to choosing a photographer. Look through their work and see if their style matches what you have in mind. (My number 1 discomfort was to show too much skin. So this was highlighted during our meeting with @sherinelohphotography )🫶🏻

👭 Get opinions from close friends or people who have an eye for detail. They’ll likely know your personal style well and be more inclined to give you honest feedback.

💰 Don’t overstretch your budget. A beautiful #maternityphotoshoot doesn’t have to mean spending beyond what you’re comfortable with.

💄 Bring along skincare and makeup products that you already know and trust. Especially with my eczema-prone skin, which can sometimes flare up randomly, I prefer to play safe and stick with products that I know my skin already accepts well. #artistry

⭐️ don’t be shy to communicate with your MUA (@nananico__ ) before the shoot on your preferred style or if you re not sure what you like, let MUA know what’s your usual comfortable style like. (Eg heavy coverage ? Lighter in the eye? Something that still look like you ? Etc)

Final Lap! Can’t wait to receive her soon ❤️❤️❤️

Actually, both Benny and I initially thought we might be having a little “him”! 👶🏻💙

Why? Because Benny’s side already has 3 nieces, so somehow we were betting on the “Law of Probability” instead! 😂

To our surprise, after the NIPT test, came the news…

IT’S A GIRL!!! 🎀💕 Totally caught both of us off guard!!!!! I guess Law of Probability had other plans for us.

🌟To all first-time moms-to-be ~
NIPT = Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing.

It’s a blood test done during pregnancy, usually from around 10 weeks onwards.

It looks at tiny fragments of DNA from the placenta circulating in the mother’s blood and screens for the chance of certain chromosome conditions, especially:

• Down syndrome (Trisomy 21)
• Edwards syndrome (Trisomy 18)
• Patau syndrome (Trisomy 13)

NIPT can usually reveal the baby’s sex early too! 👶🏻💗💙

Important note: NIPT is a screening test, not a diagnostic test. A “high-risk” result doesn’t necessarily mean that the baby has the condition, and further diagnostic testing may be recommended. 🙏🏻🤞🏻

And that was how our little “him” became our little HER! 🎀❤️

Thank you everyone for your congrats and well wishes 🙏🏻🫶🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️ we are so so so grateful!!

A love that once felt like a dream, and now has grown into a family. 🫶🏻

5 years ago, we said “We do.” 💍

We made a commitment to build a life together , as a unit, as a family 🫶🏻 to care for and love each other for who we are, and for the growing, changing versions of who we may become along the way.

5 years later, it still feels so surreal that we are finally welcoming a new little member into our family. ❤️

Someone we haven’t even met yet, but somehow already feels so close to.

From the two of us, to the three of us.

This journey hasn’t been easy, truly a test of our commitment and communication with each other. Some days, our faith and belief were tested too.
