POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’ll never forget the first time I heard a TED Talk.

I was 19 years old, sitting in a business class at Auburn University, when I heard Simon Sinek’s Start With Why.

Something about that talk changed the way I looked at my life.

I remember going home and putting a goal on my vision board:

“I want to become a TEDx speaker.”

At the time, I had no idea how it would happen. I just knew it was something I wanted to do.

Years later, I found myself sitting across from the CEO of my billion-dollar company, taking a risk most people around me told me not to take.

That decision ultimately cost me my corporate job.

At the time, getting fired felt like the end of something.

I didn’t realize it was the beginning of something else.

That moment forced me to bet on myself in a way I never had before. And somehow, that risk eventually became the story I was able to take to the TEDx stage.

Four months of writing, practicing, rewriting, questioning myself, and pushing through moments when I wasn’t sure I was ready.

And now…

The goal I wrote on my vision board at 19 has become real.

I’m officially a TEDx speaker.

I’m incredibly grateful to my family, my friends, my mentors, and everyone who supported me throughout this journey. There were so many people who believed in me when I was still trying to figure it out myself.

And to every dreamer reading this:

Keep dreaming.

You never know how long the dream will take.

You never know which setback will become the setup.

And you never know where one decision to bet on yourself might take you.

At 19, I put it on a vision board.

Today, I stood on the stage.

Dreams really do have a way of finding youif you’re willing to keep going.
