One year ago, I completed my final radiation treatment.

Looking back now, I realised how easy it is to forget the battles we once prayed so hard to overcome. Yet when I pause and reflect, I can only feel grateful — grateful to still be here, grateful for healing, and grateful for the grace God has shown me through every stage of this journey.

Sometimes I don’t notice the progress day to day. But when I look back at old photos, I see it clearly. The healing. The survival.

I watched my mother go through chemotherapy years ago, and I remember thinking how incredibly difficult it was. My own journey looked different — 25 sessions of radiation therapy — but it came with its own challenges too.

Someone once described it this way:
“Chemotherapy is like getting hit by a bullet. Radiation is like a hundred tiny knife cuts.”
And honestly, that description made sense to me.

What many people don’t talk about is how radiation continues affecting the body long after treatment has ended. Healing doesn’t stop the moment the final session is over.

A year later, these are some of the things I’ve personally experienced:

• Tightness and tenderness in the breast area
• Pulling sensations or occasional “electric shock” feelings
• Fatigue that lingers longer than expected
• Tightness around the shoulder, ribs, chest, and underarm
• Skin texture and pigmentation changes

This is why movement, stretching, and giving yourself grace during recovery matters so much. The truth is, healing is ongoing. Some days you feel strong. Some days your body reminds you of everything it has been through.

But today, I choose gratitude 😊

September came and went like a hurricane. Honestly don’t even know where the month went.

Somewhere in the middle of all the madness, I’m so glad I carved out time for church conference and a little holiday.

My encounter with God was something I don’t think I can quite put into words. I couldn’t make it for all the sessions, but that last one… Three uninterrupted hours just worshipping, soaking and basking in His presence. No rushing anywhere, no needing to do anything. Just being there.

Then the second half of September was spent in Melbourne - a place I once called my second home.

Going back this time felt a tad different, but also strangely familiar. Some things changed, some things didn’t. Ate way too much good food, had great company, caught up with old friends and somehow made new ones along the way. Heart is full. by @lenoreliew

The highs were high, the lows were somewhere near the Mariana Trench. But through it all, one thing stayed constant — God never left me. He opened doors, showed me favour, placed the right people along the way, and walked beside me even when I had absolutely no idea where I was going. 🤍

So incredibly blessed to have had my art displayed at the recent Malaysian Breast Cancer Summit 2026 × Becoming Me Forum.

Came for the event, left with new friends and many photos.

This angel. AGAIN. At this point I’m convinced God assigned her to my case personally. 😂🤍

Also bumped into my high school friend! Haven’t seen her since we graduated — what are the odds?!

Lived my influencer fantasy at Lululemon for a hot minute.

Did many many many runs because apparently I have chosen suffering as a hobby.

Proof that I actually ran and didn’t just dress like one.

MORE PROOF. I was being watched.

Spent time with the humans that make life better.

Can’t wait till The Family is finally back together this December.

Blessed with a BIL who was my friend first. Now he can’t get rid of me. Legally.

Went suit shopping with this hurricane.

Birthday No. 1. 🎂

Birthday No. 2 & 3.

A rare sighting of me in something that isn’t workout wear or shorts.

And somewhere between all of that, I ate my way through August with absolutely no regrets. by @lenoreliew
