There’s usually something that sets a build in motion. A car you grew up idolising, a particular look, or a place that left it’s mark on you.

For Rob, that place was the Nürburgring. The legendary German circuit gave this project its direction, shaping this humble Cupras transformation from everyday road car into dedicated track tool.

A DECADE OF PROGRESS(ive)

This September marks 10 years of Progressive Parts, and we’re celebrating with a proper birthday meet at PPHQ

As proud sponsors of the Mk3 Leon Cupra group, we’d absolutely love to see a huge Mk3 turnout on the day. So we’re giving you guys first refusal on tickets before we open them up to the general public. Whether you’ve been buying from us for years or you’ve never visited us before, everyone is welcome.

So, why the £5 ticket?

Last year all of our available tickets were taken very quickly, but unfortunately a number of people didn’t turn up. The result was that people who genuinely wanted to attend couldn’t get tickets, yet on the day we ended up with available space empty.

So this year we’ve introduced a small £5 charge per car to hopefully make sure tickets go to people who are actually planning to come.

And we’re giving you considerably more than your £5 back… 🍔🔥

Every car ticket includes a FREE burger or kebab from JW’s Holy Smoke BBQ Grill for the driver, normally around £12!

Trax 2026

Last weekend was so good to have the Cupra back on the road running all A ok again and to be able to have it on stand at @traxshows with the good old @leoncupramk3 family & Co 🫶🏼

It had been a little while since we had got a lot of the cars together in the same place again!! It was also real nice to catch up with some of the people I have known for a number of years now!!

Debrief on Brands Hatch

Overall probably not my best track day was slightly disappointed with it but no real suprise when ambient temperatures was 36.5°C. Oil temps went almost as high as 131°C the AD09 overheated after couple push laps then track started to turn greasy. The car developed a misfire most likely due to the heat soak from the coilpacks. Once it cooled down and faults were cleared the misfiring stopped. Less than 25 miles I did on the track day i have never come home from a track day with more than 3/4 of a tank just shows how much the car and me was struggling in the heat.

Only positive from this is car is not broken the brakes were on point with no overheating and ive got a full jerry can for the next track day 😂

Hopefully redemption can be made on the next track day.
