From sketch to final result. Giving an accent to the derrière with a bustle inspired design. The fullness or bump in the back was called a 'bustle'.

The black triple organza fabric fully embroidered with fine cord and micro sequins assures a lightness to this dramatic silhouet.
This corset based cocktail gown was first created in 2005 in the first atelier of Atelier LeonLeon. The look is now back in style with the opulent series 'The Gilded Age'.

Wat gaaf om aan te mogen werken: een jurk die net zo sprankelt als de bruid zelf. Haar wens? Iets eenvoudigs, maar verfijnd. Licht en luchtig, maar toch bijzonder. En zo ontstond deze bruidsjurk – gemaakt voor een zonovergoten bruiloft op één van de prachtige Caraïbische eilanden.

De jurk is aansluitend en elegant, met een kleine sleep die nét genoeg drama geeft zonder te overheersen. De lage rug geeft een subtiele sensualiteit, perfect in balans met het kant dat bewerkt is met kraaltjes en pailletten, wat een sprankelend geheel vormt. Elk stukje kant vroeg om een liefdevolle, zorgvuldige hand – en wat was het een mooie uitdaging om daarmee te mogen werken.

En dan dat detail: een open rand, die de illusie wekt van een tweedelige jurk, terwijl het één geheel vormt. Zacht, speels, en net even anders – precies zoals de bruid het voor zich zag.

Couture in the Making...
I discovered this black silk lamé at a fabric fair in Paris and was instantly mesmerized by its liquid sheen. It looked like freshly poured black oil—rich, glossy, and hypnotic.

To honor the fabric’s incredible fluidity, we cut it on the bias and draped it to maximize movement. Its glossy surface recalls vinyl—giving it a hint of kink—yet it remains undeniably elegant. Mysterious, daring, and surprisingly weightless.

A seductive detail: when you sit, the gown reveals just a glimpse of leg.

This is true couture—lamé this delicate can't be stitched by machine. Every seam is hand-sewn by expert artisans.

The result? A dramatic black silk lamé gown that flows around the body like crude oil.
Elegant? Kinky? Mysterious? Supersexy? I’d say: all of the above. 😉
