Koningsdag 2026! Vroeg op, vlag uit, op naar Dokkum! Brrr best koud, maar wat een mooie stad en ontzettend leuke sfeer. Kijken bij het schaatsen, bij mijn oom en tante in de haven langs op hun kotter. Als afsluiting natuurlijk nog een biertje met Wim Lex en Maxima 😉. Daarna thuis lekker opwarmen en meer gezelligheid met mijn ouders en de kinderen 🧡. by @leonzandman

Sometimes everything just lines up... Last week I had an experience I’ll never forget. I’m a big @faithnomore fan and therefore had pre-ordered @roddybottum’s book ‘The Royal We’. When it arrived, I devoured it immediately. Around that same time, my manager offered me a last-minute business trip to San Francisco, which I happily accepted. I don’t often get the chance to travel abroad for work, and I had never been to San Francisco.Then I saw on Roddy’s Instagram that he was doing a series of book readings — and the San Francisco event happened to occur exactly during my visit! The @citylightsbooks store website said it was already sold out, so I took a chance and sent Roddy a DM asking whether there was any way I could still attend. To my surprise, he replied and told me to just show up. So I did!During the interview, Roddy mentioned Billy Gould a few times in a way that made me suddenly realize Billy was actually sitting in the audience! I could hardly believe it. I’m a bass player myself, and Billy has been a major influence on me. It got even better: the person next to me then told me that Mike Bordin was also present! I didn’t spot him at first because he was sitting behind a few people.After getting my book signed and having a brief chat with Roddy, I went over to Billy and Mike. They were both incredibly friendly and down-to-earth. They happily took a photo with me. Mike even introduced me to his friend who had originally come up with the name Faith No More!One moment you’re in the Netherlands watching old @pinkpopfest Faith No More footage on YouTube (I was in the crowd!), and the next you’re in San Francisco meeting your musical heroes up-close in real life! Life always has a way of surprising you 😊 by @leonzandman
