Today is World Vitiligo Day! 🖤🌍🫱🏾‍🫲🏻

The name Leopard Boy came from learning about human zoos & finding out there was once a human exhibition literally called “The Leopard Boy”…🫨

It stuck cos I wanted to take something that was used to dehumanise people like us & reclaim it. ✊🏽

These photos of my hands are five years apart. Vitiligo hasn’t been an easy thing to live with, but tattooing it on my skin was one of my first real attempts at radical self-acceptance. 🤜🏽🤛🏽

The last few years changed me. Grief & stress made my skin change faster than I could keep up with. Losing both my parents in such a short space of time has had me on the ropes. I stopped sharing. Tbh, I’ve just been tryna survive.. ❤️‍🩹

Being perceived online is weird. But I get stared at every day in real life anyways, so what’s the difference? lol 👀 🤷🏽‍♂️

Volunteering with @vitiligosociety has reminded me that this is bigger than me. Helping others has helped me turn some of that pain into purpose. ⚔️

Also, yes, RIP my locks. The Bald Reaper came and collected. 💀😅

A leopard can’t change its spots & I’m no longer trying to 🐆
