What a beautiful way to celebrate our Italian Heritage and our Hoboken heritage!! Twenty one years ago, Leo and Tessie’s great grandchildren helped paint the mural for Hoboken’s 150th celebration along River Road- a depiction of a long shore-man’s hook and a cargo box. With the support and dedication from @urbanartsatmonroe and Justine Uva Sgaramella, the mural was touched up this past weekend. Thank you for remembering our history!! 🇮🇹 🇺🇸 by @leosgrandevous

One Tradition- Three Stories. Molfetta/Italy•Hoboken•Leos. Part 5. Leo’s has come a long way since 1939. The little neighborhood restaurant has been through every aspect of Hoboken history in our 87 years. We don’t think Leo and Tessie could have imagined where we have been in recent years. From being on @travelchannel and @foodparadisenetwork to being recognized by Italian Consulate along with the @hobitalianfest, we have continued to be part of La Madonna dei Martiri. Our roots. Our tradition. And now, for the 100th anniversary of the Italian festival in Hoboken, we are proud to announce a collaboration with @muttipomodorousa!! Tomatoes grown in Puglia, packaged in Italy, and sent directly to Leo’s. It’s been a pleasure working with the gang from Mutti. Welcome to Hoboken! by @leosgrandevous

Raised a family, started a small restaurant on the corner of Second and Grand Street, and always remained connected to their Pugliese/Molfettese roots. Supporting the efforts of the countless volunteers who have worked fiercely keeping this tradition alive in Hoboken was paramount. Three Stories-One Tradition. Molfetta/Italy•Hoboken•Leo’s. Part 4. In the early 1900’s, late 1800’s, many Italian immigrants came to America looking for a better life. Leo was one of those people. He married Tessie, bought a business, and started a family.
