I decided to softens the edges of last week’s sharp shooting Aquarius full Moon by retreating into the studio and make new batches of all my Rose compositions — slowly working away in my still zone while the wind was howling outside.

I still feel it, this powerful stillness, that maybe comes with keeping it simple in a stream of cosmic chatter. We can’t direct our energy when our nervous system is on fire and we’re pulled into a thousand stories that aren’t ours to begin with. We are soft beings, and what is ours will always find us.

Rose is a beautiful companion in this Lunar cycle, helping us protect boundaries, bringing warm emotion to Aquarius’ sharp intellect, recalibrating tense frequencies, and radiating the soft power of love and compassion.

I’ve always loved Roses. I was drawn to their magical beauty in my childhood, got lost in their spiritual symbolism in my 20s, and dived into their psychoactive properties in my 30s. But their true significance showed up for me when Menopause hit around early 40 with an unhinged barrage of anxiety, nausea, exhaustion and sadness. Of the thousand things I tried, one thing stayed with me: The Rose.

Roses hold a frequency of 320MHz, higher than any other botanical or gemstone on Earth. When we enter their vibrational aura through scent or touch, our own frequency is raised through the law of entrainment — a life force inherent to Nature, that synchronises two or more vibrating bodies into one harmonious rhythm.

That instant elation we feel when hit with the scent of full bloom Summer Roses. That good vibration flooding our nervous system when we mist our face with Rose water. That sense of All Will Be OK when we dab Rose oil on our pulse and points and pituitary glands – these are all signs that our own frequency is being lifted.

Over the past 10 years I have slowly worked on my ROSE COLLECTION, adding compositions that nurture my skin, regulate my nervous system and calibrate my vibration with sun-infused extracts of Roses and connected botanicals of the Rose family. These ancient blooms have my heart, and this collection is my expression of their rejuvenating power, harmonising vibration and unconditional love.

I got up early enough to catch the tail end of the Capricorn full moon — so bright even my vintage iPhone managed to capture that translucent ray of magic.

By the time I wander down to the Orange tree, silver sheen is replaced by the first light of Winter Sun. Warm enough to awaken the bittersweet scent of orange blossom, reminding me of something I cannot quite access — the way fragrances do.

I stop for a moment, trying to touch whatever it is that eludes me. Nothing. I smile and move on. My mind may not know, but I feel that my body, my heart and my soul remembers.

In Grand Designs, season 11, episode 37, there’s this wonderful man called Ed Waghorn who’s building his family home entirely by hand, over more than 10 years. It’s my all time fave episode of this show, because it touches a likeness within myself:

The many diversions in pursuit of hand made beautiful random things, like whittled light switches, while the rooms still don’t have doors. The disarming tangents following natural, slowly emerging forms with total disregard for a timeline. The courage to be slow. The feeling that everything is touched with so much love. It’s Whole — despite the rolling chaos and many moving parts.

Getting lost in a thousand moments of beauty is always worth the wait, no?

I took my sweet time to make handpainted Thank You cards for our Solstice sale this year — black for Midwinter, white for Midsummer. They’re almost all gone and our sale ends this Sunday.

My sweet synergistic blend for DAMASQUE ROSE PERFUMED BODY BALM. Co-extracted for 12 months into organic Apricot seed oil using the traditional method of sun-infusion. SCORPIO MOON RITUAL / MIRROR THE LIGHT
I love the recalibrating, deep reaching vibe of this full Moon – the subtle tensions funnelled into emotional adjustment, the light shining deep into the roots of what really drives us, the emerging material we are really made of. Suddenly, things we’ve ignored fly into focus, and we glimpse an image of ourselves we haven’t seen before, had forgotten about, or pushed aside.
