Woke up feeling grateful to God for 10 years on this amazing, heart wrenching yet absolutely wonderful journey! 10 years of pain, tears, joy, relief, fear, hope, impossibility, possibilities, change, depression, loneliness, feeling lost & confused yet pushing…
.
Looking at the before and after pictures, one thing was consistent through all the pain…., it was the smile!
How much we hide behind smiles & laughter,smiles that hide the suicidal thoughts & attempts, the laughter that drowns everyone in the room yet “a silent cry for help saying, can you see ME?…I need you to see ME so you can help me”
The smile that covers shameful thoughts, experiences & hopelessness….is still the same smile of victory in the after pictures…The smile was ever present…. Now I have learned to look beyond people’s laughter & smiles, from my experience I av learned to look deep in the eyes/heart and hear the silent messages.

Thinking about it, I realize I could not have done this without you all, I had started and failed so many times I know that it was your thousands of messages, comments, prayers, likes etc that kept me grounded. So many times I wanted to give up, then I will see a message of how I inspired someone & I will pick myself up again because I owe it to you, not to give up….. thank you warriors, you are all my rock! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

My brother Femi who never accepted my excuses, at a point I thought the dude hated me lol…. Now I wake up everyday thanking God for him. Nneka his wife, this woman who pushed me towards this journey without pressure! My nephews so loving 🙏🏾❤️

My parents ….. when I come back to this world, I choose you again, you cried with me through the pain & depression, watched my tantrums, endured my anger & outbursts even though you did not understand it all…. You stood by me and I stood tall, thanks dad and mum.

Another beautiful reunion of the FGC IdoAni class of 1990.
.
42 years ago we all walked through the gates of Federal Government College IdoAni as children barely knowing what the future held for us, individually and collectively.
.
42 years after we have lost some great classmates along the way, had our ups and downs, gone on our separate paths but every 2 years we gather again, to relieve old memories, discuss our goals and look out for one another. Our reunions are always such a great experience.
.
This October we took our journey to the historic city of Abeokuta and what an experience we had. We left Abeokuta feeling rejuvenated and absolutely blessed.
.
….. And we will always keep in mind, FGC Idoani.

A MOTHER DESTROYED HER DAUGHTER FOR VIEWS!!!

Hmmm...I have been thinking about 2 Kings 6:25–30.
It is one of those passages in the Bible that you read and decide it is just a story, this could never have happened!
It is a picture of a society that has been pushed so far into desperation that the most sacred human instincts have begun to collapse.

And then I watched what is happening today.
A mother. Her own child.
And the allegation that she sexually abused and exposed her daughter online for money.
And suddenly, 2 Kings 6 came rushing back to me.

I began to ask myself:
WHAT ARE WE HUNGRY FOR?
The women in Samaria were hungry for food.
Yes I know there is hunger in Nigeria but is this really that bad or we are possessed by something else? What are we hungry for today?
Money? Attention? Followers? Gifts? Validation?Relevance? Fame?

How hungry have we become?
Because there is something terrifying about a society where a mother can look at her own child — a child whose innocence she is supposed to guard with everything in her — and see not a little human being to protect, but an opportunity to make money.
What kind of hunger does that?
Those women were desperate for food. For survival yet it was unimaginable what they conceived!

This woman reportedly said she was desperate for money online.
What happens when money becomes our famine?
when attention becomes our famine?
What happens when social media becomes the place where we go to feed an emptiness inside us?
What happens when the hunger for relevance becomes so enormous that nothing is sacred anymore? Not marriage. Not grief. Not illness. Not death. Not our bodies. Not our homes.
And apparently, now, not even our children.

We live in an age where everything can be content.
Someone is getting mobbed?
Film it.
Someone is dying?
Film it.
Someone is crying?
Film it.
Someone is sick?
Film it.
A child is being molested?
Film it.
And then post it.
Monetise it.

Turn it into engagement.
Because somebody might watch.
Somebody might send a gift (by the way all those who watched and sent the woman gifts online should be tracked and prosecuted too!!! They are all bloody pedophiles and enablers! 😡😡😡� by @lepaciousbose
