Well… WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!✨

I officially debuted my Lorax burlesque number and got to have the most AMAZING time being a part of Georgiez Got Talent alongside my drag friends and family!💃
I’m so incredibly grateful for every single person who came out, supported me, cheered me on, and made this experience so damn special. My friends are my family and it brought *happy* tears to my eyes bringing this goober routine out for you all. Bringing this weird little Lorax fever dream to the stage has been SO much fun and I can’t wait to keep growing this number and bringing it to more places!
And speaking of more places… you’re gonna be seeing a LOT more of Les 👀✨

There are some performances that are just fun to put together, and then there are performances that mean something a little deeper to you. My Yellowjackets-inspired Antler Queen number to “Climbing Up the Walls” by Radiohead is probably one of the most personal pieces I’ve ever put together aside from my "Alive" Sia number. If you know the show, you know this song plays during that scene in Season 2...

⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ Yellowjackets spoilers ahead

The girls finally crossing that horrifying line as they feast on Jackie, while the reality of what they’ve become starts to sink in. And honestly after researching the meaning behind the song, it makes it hit even harder.

“Climbing Up the Walls” was inspired by Thom Yorke’s experiences around mental illness and psychiatric care, and it’s a song about that feeling of something dark and terrifying living inside your own head, something you can’t simply run away from...and that is something I connect with deeply.

One of the reasons I love Yellowjackets so much is because beneath all the blood, wilderness, cannibalism, and Antler Queen imagery, it’s really a story about trauma. About what happens when you’re pushed past your limits to survive. It's about the parts of ourselves we try to lock away and the ways they can eventually claw their way back out and as someone who deals with mental illness myself, that idea hits VERY close to home. Now don't get it twisted though, I am NOT a cannibal 😂😂 I am just a fangirl burlesque performer who talks too much in her captions.

So IDK for me, the Antler Queen isn’t just a monster. She’s fear. She’s survival. She’s trauma. She’s the part of yourself that you’re terrified to look at and the part that sometimes takes the reins when you feel like you’ve lost control. Getting to turn all of that into a burlesque performance feels incredibly cathartic and gives my feminine rage a place to call home.

I love this weird, beautiful, horrifying show so damn much, and getting to bring one of its most iconic moments to life in my own way is genuinely an honor. I love @yellowjackets and cannot wait to see how it all ends in season 4

Social media is usually where I come to celebrate the wins, the accomplishments, the exciting moments, and the things I’m proud of.... but I think it’s important to be vulnerable enough to share the losses, too.

And holy shit, this week has been one for the books… just not the good kind. 😂

It’s been a rough one for sure. A lot of crap, a lot of disappointment, and a lot of moments where I’ve had to remind myself that not every week is going to be a highlight reel. So idk yeah, this is me acknowledging that things have been shitty lately. I’m not going to slap a “but everything happens for a reason!” bow on it bc sometimes things just suck 🤷‍♀️

But I’m still here.
Still moving forward.
And hopeful that next week can get its shit together. 🖤
