Transfer students belong at Lesley.

@phithetakappa Kappa has named Lesley University to its 2026 Transfer Honor Roll, recognizing institutions that help community college students successfully transfer, thrive, and earn their degrees.

We’re honored to be among just 275 colleges and universities nationwide recognized for creating a welcoming and supportive transfer experience. This distinction highlights the factors that matter most to transfer students, including admissions practices, transfer scholarships, affordability, campus life, and student support.

To all the transfer students who make our community stronger, this recognition is for you 💚

July is Disability Pride Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the history, achievements, advocacy, and lived experiences of the disabled community. It also invites us to reflect on the importance of accessibility, inclusion, equity, and acceptance.

As we recognize the month, we’re also sharing an opportunity for members of the Lesley community who identify as disabled to submit work for Deconstructing Disability: Perspectives + Identities. By centering the work of disabled artists, the exhibition seeks to expand and deepen understandings of disability through diverse perspectives, identities, and ways of moving through the world.

Open to students, staff, faculty, and administrators. Submission deadline: September 13. More info at the link in bio. Pictured: Oblivious-Sided by Bill Porter, 2024 by @lesleyuniversity

Tynan Byrne’s work begins from a deeply personal place and expands into something communal, urgent, and enduring.

A 2015 alum of the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University and now completing his MFA in Visual Arts, Byrne works across photography, writing, and bookmaking to create the images he once needed but did not have, centering his lived experience as a gay man with honesty, care, and intention.

Working primarily in black and white film, Byrne documents his life, his relationships, and the community he has built over time. His photographs foreground intimacy, friendship, and queer sociality.

The work featured in the exhibition draws from his latest artist book, how strange others’ hands on the body that you love, which traces his relationship with his partner through moments of closeness, disruption, and care.

Honoring Juneteenth: A Call to Reflect, Celebrate, and Engage

Juneteenth, observed each year on June 19, marks the end of slavery in the United States and stands as a powerful reminder of the ongoing pursuit of freedom, justice, and equity. At Lesley, we recognize Juneteenth as a university holiday and an opportunity to reflect, learn, and honor this history. The University will be closed for students, faculty, and professional staff in observance of the holiday.

We invite our community to join the City of Cambridge for the 5th Annual Juneteenth Freedom Day Parade and Celebration. The parade begins at 10 am at Massachusetts Avenue and Pleasant Street, followed by a celebration at Riverside Press Park from 10:30 am to 3 pm featuring music, food, performances, and family friendly activities.
