Just a bit of a program change .....Just a bit of a program change .....

Join us at the Brooklyn Heights Branch of BPL on Thursday, December 4th at 6PM for our last showing of 2025.
NYFA sponsored artist Kim Sykes will read from her novel, The Angriest Bird.
THE ANGRIEST BIRD begins with the memory of a past trauma, a memory that 22 year old Violet Cooper struggles to reconcile. It starts with a flash memory from her past. It’s 1952, Wakefield, Louisiana when 10 year old Violet discovers her teacher, Marie Poydras, hanging from a tree at the Wakefield School for Negro Children.
