I get to share some good news...my short story "Hyenas" won the fiction contest sponsored by the Adroit Journal. It's a hard story to read and I'm grateful the editors read it so well. It'll be published next month!

Ensconced in the coziness of this cabin for a writing residency week here at Wildacres, in the mountains of NC. Gotta go pack up my food in bins for fear of bears, and get to the writing! (Note: apps are open, I believe.) by @lesliepwriter

Shanksville, PA, during my frozen visit in January 2016.

In the comments, I've reposted my piece I shared earlier this week, about being on the PATH train into NYC that morning (headed to the WTC station), about how to approach writing about the vastness of 9/11.

But today, this artful memorial quietly speaks in ways words can't. by @lesliepwriter
