Aluma opens tomorrow

The installation brings together works from their permanent collection, reworked through processes of oxidation. Materials and sounds are altered, introducing shifts in tone, texture, and structure. What appears consistent at first begins to show variation over time.
Aluma looks at how change happens within controlled systems, how repetition breaks down, and how subtle differences emerge through exposure and transformation.

Be careful with your Nubuck.

We were messing around with the imprints on the Olive Nubuck on Aluma’s last day. We intentionally/unintentionally left a stubborn face print that needed professional care. Thanks to the corner tintoria, we were able to bring it back to its original state.

Milan Kundera once wrote that "slowness is the most radical form of freedom." It is a line that could serve as the founding statement for LESORR, the furniture and object design studio founded in 2023 by David Raymond in Quebec. In a culture where objects are launched like events—visible, circulated, archived, forgotten—Raymond proposes something almost radical in its simplicity: pieces that ask for time to be understood.

LESORR (Les Objets Raymond Raymond) works primarily in raw aluminium, a material Raymond chose with deliberate purpose. "Growing up in a quieter, slower region of Quebec, I was surrounded by a lot of aged and well-loved furniture and household objects, pieces that had been kept and cherished for generations," he explains. "Raw aluminum is very expressive and reactive to the way we use it. It develops a patina over time, and, much like a softer wood, it records marks and scuffs from use. La chaise Efflorescence par LESORR

Développée spécialement pour Efflorescence à travers une approche fidèle à LESORR, la chaise s’inspirent de la géométrie distinctive de la Chapelle des Franciscains. Une quantité limitée de la série de 44 assises a été rendue disponible pour vous offrir la chance d’acquérir cette pièce de design de collection, relique de l’expérience éphémère. Fabriquée en aluminium brut, chacune des assises a été soigneusement brossée, numérotée, puis gravée de la signature de LESORR et de celle d’Efflorescence. Légères, durables et empilables, elles incarnent une interprétation simple et efficace d’un système familier, définie par une structure angulaire claire.

Commissioned for Efflorescence and in keeping with LESORR’s approach, the chair draws inspiration from the distinctive geometry of the Franciscans’ Chapel. A limited quantity of the 44 seats has been made available, offering the chance to acquire a collectible design piece as a memento of the fleeting experience. Made from raw brushed aluminum, each chair was carefully finished by hand, numbered, and engraved with LESORR and Efflorescence. Lightweight, durable, and stackable, they express a simple, efficient take on a familiar system, defined by a clear, angular frame. by @lesobjetsraymondraymond
