@wemetatacme poll made me realize how much of wanting someone to “just get me” was wanting to feel validated. I wanted that immediate understanding to prove I was lovable.

Now I’d choose the best person I know. I don’t need him to understand everything about me immediately to feel sure about how he treats me. by @lesoftlaunch

I’m a religious participant in @wemetatacme polls, but this one required a moment.

How much weight do we give someone “just getting us”? And what are we willing to overlook because of it?

Turns out I am extremely capable of doing 400 things in the name of preparing to do the one thing I actually want to do. Including, apparently, creating an email folder with 4,542 emails in it.

I wrote about procrastinating by being productive, my obsession with feeling in control and why actually doing the thing is somehow scarier than making a beautiful plan to eventually do it.
