you wanna eat me? / come and try.

The timelapse process for this will be posted either later today or tomorrow, as I’ve recorded the full process of both the sketch (which is posted), and the color! :)

Iron Lung mixed media commission for @gothic.eclipse. By far the biggest traditional commission I’ve had the pleasure of creating. Going over this scene with him and what it meant was such a joy and truly understanding the depth behind what I CRAVED to produce from it was probably some of the most fun I’ve had on a commission project! I was given majority creative freedom, which I do NOT take for granted, and ended up making something full of rage and terror. (Poor Simon) 😭

Simon commission timelapse (commissions are open! I have a queue for November + I’m making my commission sheet middle of this month as well as my print shop)🩸Honestly, I was going to do my usual and put captions, explain my process and whatnot. But I really feel like there isn’t a lot for me to say with this one. I focused mainly on just the emotion, texture, and lighting of the piece. I feel like the initial concept sketches I came up with were PERFECT regarding the emotion I wanted to capture, so I felt 0 need to redraw anything that wasn’t necessary. 🫶

Only Us. #projecthailmary

Was inspired by “Murder Your Memory” for this piece. I wasn’t really sure about the composition and how I wanted to go about adding in Grace’s yellow coat, I know more now. I pushed on to finish this even when I really didn’t like it.
Got bored and unsatisfied with this piece close to the end unfortunately, but I’ve learned a lot since beginning this illustration and I plan to hopefully revisit this idea in the future with my newfound knowledge !

This will be up as a print soon when I open my shop.

Scanned thumbnail concepts of Simon’s perpetual terror, everything 4x6. Micron pens and sunshine.

Concepts for @emillyrosee___ s commissioned piece.

Running some tests to see what kind of mixed media projects I can create with this. I’m so inspired

What we are looking at here is what Simon also sees. Me and my client discussed prior to thumbnailing that a closer, more brutal look at his face was the direction we wanted to take. A reflection in the porthole. I was given a lot of creative liberty with this, so I took it upon myself (with the information given) that this should feel extremely unbalanced. I wanted to have the ability to split his face down the middle to see something familiar to us (Simon, his terrified gaze) on the left. The porthole, his eye, his hand, his hair, his teeth and mouth. And on the other side something completely unfathomable. Maybe a nightmare? Something worse?
