Leo — White Heat

White Heat is Leo because it tells a story about rightful sovereignty: an heir must become a true leader by acting from the authority of his own heart.

Sian begins with both the privileges and the flaws of Leo. He is arrogant, prideful, possessive, and accustomed to his elevated position. But inherited status proves insufficient when his forbidden relationship with Avila is discovered and Avila alone is condemned.

Being born an heir cannot save the man Sian loves. He must earn the power to act.

That creates the central Leo transformation. Sian progresses from believing himself entitled to authority into becoming someone capable of seizing and wielding it. He defeats his rivals, claims leadership, and uses his power to rescue Avila.

His love is fixed fire: ferocious, focused, loyal, and unwilling to negotiate itself out of existence. Sian’s response is essentially: This is the person I love. He is mine to protect. I will destroy every authority that says our love is shameful.

Sian refuses to let his great love be treated as something small, secret, or dishonorable. He does not merely rescue Avila privately. He rises into public power and makes their love impossible for the world to dismiss.

White Heat is Leo because Sian is the arrogant prince who becomes the ferocious king—and earns his crown by refusing to betray his heart.

Cancer is about the search for emotional safety—especially when the family of origin has failed to provide it.

Gemini — the ’90s Coming of Age trilogy

The ’90s Coming of Age trilogy is Gemini because it explores identity through communication, images, music, friendship, secrets, and conflicting versions of reality.

Peter is a photographer. He watches people, frames them, and tries to understand them through the images he creates. But a photograph captures only one angle—and Peter repeatedly discovers that the story he has constructed about someone is not the whole truth.

The series is filled with Gemini forms of communication: photographs, mixtapes, conversations, rumors, cultural references, hidden truths, and the social information through which teenagers decide who everyone is. Peter and his friends are constantly telling stories about themselves and one another—and then revising those stories as they grow.

Gemini also represents multiplicity. No one in the trilogy is only one thing. Adam can be loving and destructive, privileged and wounded, confident and terrified. Leslie cannot be reduced to an obstacle. Peter is both observer and participant, perceptive in some ways and startlingly blind in others.

The central relationship is itself mutable and difficult to define. Love, friendship, sexuality, identity, and loyalty keep changing shape. Even the trilogy’s structure reflects Gemini: three books following a complicated romantic triangle in which everyone possesses a different piece of the truth.
