One thing I genuinely respect about the citizenship process is that it requires people to put in the work. You have to study, learn about this country, understand the laws, and go through a legal process to become a citizen.

My grandparents went through that process, worked hard, learned what they needed to learn, and raised me to respect the law, appreciate what I have, and understand that nothing in life is simply handed to you. I wasn't perfect growing up, but as an adult I've gotten my life together, and I take those values seriously.

That's a big reason why I believe there should be a meaningful legal process for becoming a citizen. At the same time, I don't believe every immigrant who comes here illegally is a bad person. I've met immigrants from different countries who are hardworking, respectful people. I've also personally encountered people who were involved with serious violence and weapons, and those experiences have shaped how I look at immigration enforcement.

For me, the issue isn't about hating immigrants. It's about believing that citizenship is something worth working for, respecting the laws of the country you're entering, and recognizing the responsibilities that come with being part of a society.

And when it comes to the argument that America is simply “stolen land,” I understand the history of conquest and displacement, and I'm not denying that history. But every part of human history includes nations and civilizations conquering territory and changing borders. We can't change the past. We can acknowledge it while still recognizing that this is the United States today and focusing on what we want this country to become going forward. by @lethan2323

I do not want to burn in hell with people who knowingly choose wickedness, harm children, abuse animals, or support killing innocent lives. I believe there is a clear line between right and wrong, and I refuse to sit in the middle and pretend evil is acceptable. I have made my choice, and I choose to stand on the side of God, righteousness, and what I believe is right.
