Ever wonder what a typical day looks like for a future physician? Take a peek into @morehouseschoolofmedicine (MSM) student @lethan_hampton29 first-year routine—where dedication meets balance. Learn more here: https://morehouse-medicine.college-tour.com/homepage☀️ Morning: Lethan starts his day with intention—reviewing notes and getting himself mentally ready for lectures and studying. 📖 Midday: He stays locked in on coursework, taking time to understand concepts deeply, not just memorize. 💤 Rest + Exercise: And throughout it all, he makes room for both—because getting enough rest keeps him focused and sharp, while exercise helps him reset and maintain energy without burning out.For anyone considering medical school, Lethan’s story is a reminder that success isn’t just about working hard—it’s about working smart while taking care of yourself. 💙 Interested in learning more about Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM)?🔗 Learn more here: https://morehouse-medicine.college-tour.com/homepage by @lethan_hampton29

That’s a wrap! ✅ 25% of the way to becoming an MD! Thanking God for the ups and downs and for allowing me to finish with a 4.0 this past year. It certainly wasn’t easy but I learned so much about myself and the areas in which I can improve both personally and as a student. I know that second year will be a much greater challenge, but I’m ready to get going!!Pre-Medical students!! Remember that you are built for this journey and you are more than capable of excelling. When I finished my MCAT with a 501, I didn’t know if I would be accepted and I became uncertain about my ability to thrive in this space. But it wasn’t until I got to campus and started changing my study habits and putting in more work that I realized this is definitely possible. Of all the things that try to limit us, we should NEVER be the ones to limit ourself. Your MCAT does not define you! Only you get to decide how you show up in the present moment. Keep pushing; we got this! 💫 by @lethan_hampton29

It is unfortunate that I come with this message, but today the Atlanta Board of Education plans to vote on the proposed closure or repurposing of 16 APS schools — including one that holds a special place in my heart, Dunbar Elementary, a cornerstone of Mechanicsville and a school deeply important to the AUC community as well.Through Black Men in White Coats, we have made mentorship a priority over the last few years. Our chapter has poured into the young men at Dunbar by serving as big brothers, providing tutoring and clinical lessons, and showing them that they have limitless potential. Most importantly, their talent, brilliance, and curiosity continually inspire me and remind me why this work matters. In this climate, they need more support, not separation from the very people and places that anchor them.Closing Dunbar, where 86% of students walk to school, will only increase the financial, safety, and transportation burdens on families who already face systemic barriers. It will disrupt education and further detach children from the stability they deserve. Many of the affected schools with student populations over 80% African American have endured chronic underfunding for years. Instead of addressing these inequities, the proposed closures punish these neighborhoods further. This aligns with a nationwide trend of disinvestment in public education, pushing our youth toward instability while treating education like a commodity instead of a fundamental right.I stand firmly with the parents, teachers, students, and community members demanding that Dunbar Elementary and all public schools remain open and well-funded.I urge the Atlanta Board of Education @apsboe to make the right decision: Reject these closures and invest in the communities that need support; not displacement. These children deserve stability, community, and most importantly, OPPORTUNITY!#dunbarelementary #educationisahumanright #educationispower by @lethan_hampton29

Just the beginning! #whitecoatceremony Lord I thank you for opening doors that I never imagined were possible of being opened. Thank you for showing me constant grace, despite the countless mistakes I make. And thank you for simply being present, walking with me step by step on this journey and providing unwavering protection and strength. May you grant me the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to be a vessel for You and to help Your people wherever you call me to go next. by @lethan_hampton29

Thrilled — that’s the only way Lethan Hampton can describe it.Each morning, he wakes up grateful to be learning the art of medicine, diving deeper into his endless curiosity about the human body and doing what he loves. As part of our spotlight series introducing the MD Class of 2029, we’re proud to share the voices behind the future physicians. For Lethan, the impact of medicine is personal. “Helping one person might not change the whole world, but it could change the world for one person,” he says. His mission is to advocate relentlessly for his patients, amplify their voices, and deliver the highest standard of care — both here and abroad. by @lethan_hampton29

It is no secret that African Americans make up about 9% of the STEM workforce—despite representing over 13% of the U.S. population. In a time when legislation is actively targeting DEI efforts and creating barriers to higher education, it is imperative that we remind our youth of their limitless potential. They have the power to be future physicians, engineers, data scientists, financial analysts, etc. who will change the world!Last week, I returned to my roots with a mission of igniting ambition, sparking curiosity, and challenging a group of 8th graders to see themselves as the future of STEM. We held an honest conversation about why increasing our representation in the STEM workforce matters. Together, we also created S.M.A.R.T. goals to help each student set a clear, attainable career-focused plan for the next five years as they transition into high school and eventually college. We must ensure they know that while our presence is growing in many industries, our impact in STEM is also powerful! We belong here and we will continue to leave a mark!💫 by @lethan_hampton29
