Introducing resident Letícia Apolinária:

Letícia’s artistic and design practice develops at the intersection of research, visual narrative, and editorial production, with a particular interest in how personal experiences and objective data can be articulated as a form of collective reflection. Her work often stems from research processes—documentary, statistical, or autobiographical—which are translated into visual language through graphic design, editing, and experimentation with image-making, particularly photography.

Editorial practice plays a fundamental role in her trajectory, functioning as a space for artistic experimentation, complemented by an interest in creating relationships and fostering dialogue between different media and contexts of presentation.

In her developing practice, Letícia has been creating experimental projects that combine design, image, and conceptual research, with a strong focus on themes related to identity, memory, affective relationships, and the construction of personal narratives.

In this residency, Letícia deepens interests already present in her practice, particularly the relationship between personal experience and visual language. Through statistical data on women living alone—understood beyond solitude as social, relational, and structural conditions—and her own personal history, as well as that of the women in her family, she explores intersecting racial and temporal dimensions. The artistic residency thus emerges as a privileged context for the further development of this research, enabling the expansion of her editorial experimentation—here intersecting data, photography, and illustration—and the articulation of the project within a public and exhibition-oriented dimension.
