😱 The historic domes are no longer up, but some years back @letmebecandid captured this awesome picture of me by the domes.The Cape Romano Dome House was an abandoned house consisting of six dome-shaped modules on stilts, located approximately 300 feet offshore from Cape Romano Island (as of 2019), south of Marco Island, in the Ten Thousand Islands of Collier County, Florida. It was constructed in 1979 by retired businessman Bob Lee, abandoned in 1992, and sold in 2005 to John Tosto. The structure was never meant to be accessible by boat, and has no landings or docking facilities.While originally built on Morgan Island and would technically be referred to as the “Morgan Island Dome Home”, erosion had filled in the small natural channel (Morgan Pass) between both Morgan and Cape Romano and cut that land from Morgan Island. This resulted in the home being on a different island than where it was originally built.Furthermore, continuous erosion to the barrier islands in this area has resulted in the home sitting out in the water with the closest island being Cape Romano. Hence, the “Cape Romano Dome Home”.The last major hurricane in the region took the last three standing domes down! by @letmebecandid

Thanks to @elambert1328 and family for meeting with me on this particular night on the beach at sunset here in Naples. 24 years ago these two kids decided on forever and got married. They had no idea what they were doing or who they were for that matter. So much was stacked against them. They had so much to learn. They vowed to love, honor, and cherish each other. Some days that came easy. Other days it was like climbing a mountain, with obstacles in their way.Life changed quickly. The realities of work and kids and throw in a move across the country… it was nothing like they expected. Being married to your best friend wasn’t a Hallmark movie and life had a way of getting in the way…of everything. So many lessons were learned. So many tears were shed. Moments of joy and pain, shared together, year after year while they grew and changed. They are no longer those kids. They wear the years of life in the grey of their hair and the wrinkles on their faces. Thankfully they continued to change and grow and become two people who know how important it is to choose your partner each and every day. To communicate. To compromise. To lean in. To repair. To forgive. To let go. To learn to love someone the way they need to be loved. None of it was easy but all of it was worth it. 24 years ago two kids had no idea what they were getting themselves into and honestly I’m glad I didn’t know. I never would have believed we could have survived and thrived through all of what life has had in store for us. This past year has tested us and somehow, we have come out stronger. We have listened to each other, leaned in and we know that we are in this for the long haul. So happy anniversary honey! I love you! SOOOO I had the amazing opportunity to meet up with friends Malisa & Rudy the other night..... we went on Salty Sam’s Pirate Cruise off of Fort Myers Beach....where I had the HONOR of pronouncing them husband and wife!!! I can say this is my first pirate ship wedding!!!! We climbed to the top of the boat and did it right at sunset...it was short, sweet and perfect for them! So happy they’ve finally made it official!! ❤ THANK YOU BOTH for letting me be in on the surprise and for having me officiate and take your photos!
