Triangle Oostende.
Deze tijdelijke lichtinstallatie is een vervolg op James Ensor’s werk “groot zicht op Mariakerke” (1901).
Triangle kadert het “nieuw groot zicht op Mariakerke”.
Uitgevoerd op 21 september 2024 van 22:35 tot 0:10.

TRIANGLE OOSTENDE is een tijdelijke lichtinstallatie rond het Duinenkerkje in Mariakerke. Hij vindt plaats in het kader van het afsluitevenement van het Ensorjaar op 21 september 2024.

TRIANGLE OOSTENDE verbindt drie punten in het landschap die samenvallen met de randen van Ensor’s werk ‘GROOT ZICHT OP MARIAKERKE’(1887): de duinen, de polder en de stad vandaag.

De krachtige laserstralen vormen de nieuwe omkadering binnen de bestaande omgeving en helpt ons dit cultuurlandschap op een totaal nieuwe manier ervaren. Bezoekers kunnen vrij rondlopen onder en langs de installatie en ontdekken hun eigen « NIEUW GROOT ZICHT OP MARIAKERKE ».

Als onderdeel van het kunstproject Triangle, is dit de grootste installatie tot nog toe met zijdes van meer dan 200m lengte. Er gaan 7 maanden voorbereiding aan vooraf.

Laboratoire d’Annecy de Physique des Particules
is organizing the second edition of the “Gravitational Wave Orchestra” in Annecy, following a first event in Louvain-la-Neuve in September 2022.

The idea of this series of workshops is to bring together international experts on the stochastic gravitational background. This background is the gravitational signal created by the ensemble of all sources, from the earliest instants of the Universe, that are too distant or too faint to be detected individually. We can think of an orchestra in which each instrument plays its own melody, and together form a symphony.

This conference aims to highlight the most recent advances and discoveries in this rather specialized field, with an emphasis on theory and data analysis. The format, which leaves plenty of time for discussion, encourages exchange. We are also planning tutorial sessions on the data analysis methods used by the various gravitational wave collaborations, LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA, LISA, Pulsar Timing Arrays and cosmic microwave background experiments.

The social events will be a conference by the artist Jan de Coninck on his project “the triangle”, which remind the Einstein Telescope and LISA , the first evening, and a dinner cruise on the beautiful Annecy lake the last day.
