Hey y’all! I’m Cristine — the mama behind NestMama 🤍

Before my son was born, his nursery became my favorite room in the house. I’d sit in there for hours, reading to him, listening to music, and thinking about all the changes to come.

Looking back, bringing that room to life helped me prepare for motherhood. It gave me comfort, excitement, and a space to dream about the life we were about to begin.

I loved every part of the process so much that I decided to give some life to this passion. I’d love to help other families in Austin (and surrounding areas) create spaces that feel beautiful, fun, functional, and ready for life with baby.

Before I picked a crib, paint color, or bought a single cute thing for the nursery… I thought about these 5 things first 👇

🏠 1. The room: Our primary bedroom is downstairs, so I wanted baby as close to us as possible for easy access. However, the rooms upstairs offered more privacy and felt “safer”! I also considered natural light and wanted a room that felt bright during the day.

📐 2. The layout: I looked at which space gave me the best flow and enough room for everything we actually needed without feeling crowded.

✨ 3. The standout moment: We wanted an accent wall that brought color into the room without turning into a huge DIY project. One impactful wall gave us that standout moment while keeping the work manageable.

🎨 4. The vibe: I wanted the room to feel a little Austin—warm, playful and with a subtle Southwestern feel. That became the starting point for our colors, patterns + decor.

🛏️ 5. Functionality: Where would the crib, dresser, chair + storage actually go? I thought about how we’d move through the room, especially during changes, feedings + those middle-of-the-night moments.

Pretty matters, but how you actually live in the room matters more.

Somewhere between becoming a mom and finding myself again, I started building the life I always dreamed of.

I’ve always wanted something of my own. I just never really knew what it would look like—or when I’d finally have the courage to go for it. Then motherhood completely shifted what I wanted my life to feel like. I wanted to be present with my son, but I also needed something that was mine. Something creative. Something that challenged me, excited me, and reminded me that I’m still me outside of being a mom. NestMama became that thing.

It’s still new, I’m still figuring things out as I go, and there are definitely days where I’m like, what am I doing 😂 But then I get to walk into someone’s home, create something with my own hands, help another mama feel a little more ready for what’s ahead—and I’m like… oh. This is it.

Owning my own thing. Being creative again. Being there for my family. Building something I’m proud of.
