Certaines rencontres marquent nos cœurs à jamais. Barnabé, nous avons partagé avec toi des moments, des sourires, mais aussi un combat difficile contre l’insuffisance rénale chronique.

Avec Agissons Ensemble, nous avons essayé d’apporter notre contribution, notre soutien et un peu d’espoir dans cette épreuve. Nous aurions tellement voulu voir ton histoire connaître une autre fin… 😭💔

Aujourd’hui, la douleur est immense. Tes anciennes vidéos deviennent des souvenirs précieux, des traces de ton passage parmi nous.

Make it stop 😭 Sensationalized adventure narratives like this reinforce tired, misleading, and dangerous colonial tropes. I’ve held off speaking on this but it won’t stop showing up on my feeds and each time I die a little inside. It’s also an ad. Instead of this dominating the conversation, attention should be directed toward the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Democratic Republic of the Congo and supporting local relief efforts. You can support @letsacttogetherforcongo a volunteer youth organization in Goma, DRC 🇨🇩 through the link in my bio. Isaac est un enfant orphelin qui parcourt des kilomètres avec sa petite charrette pour aller chercher de l’eau, afin d’aider sa mère et ses petits frères. 💔

À son âge, il devrait être à l’école, jouer et rêver comme les autres enfants. Mais la vie l’a obligé à porter des responsabilités beaucoup trop lourdes pour ses petites épaules.

Son courage nous rappelle combien certains enfants ont besoin de notre soutien. Ensemble, nous pouvons lui redonner un peu d’espoir et contribuer à améliorer la vie de sa famille. ❤️🙏🏽
