POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

My first-ever collage (2025) and a poem I wrote last month. ✨

Count your time by moments noticed—
A view, a cloud, the sea.
Count your walks by birds—not steps,
The gulls that wheel on the breeze.

Count your days by the little things—
A beach, a wave, a shell.
Count your life by wonder—not weather,
Every sky has a story to tell.

I *love* using leftover scraps to create new collages.✨And don’t even get me started on my new fav: creating prose-poems out of random words and phrases I clip from my old magazines. 🥰✂️ (It’s still green here in central Alabama, hence the grass and leaves. 😅🍃)

“She found the 1915 storybook cottage overlooking a private saltwater pond that flows straight into the sea. Think: foraged wildflowers on an old-fashioned farm table and small windows right under the eaves.”✨

I started blending my love of writing with my love of creating art, y’all. ✂️✍🏼❤️ I’ve been cutting words and phrases out of old magazines and books and piecing them together into little prose poems to go along with my collages.☀️ I call this one Storybook Cottage and it was SO much fun to make! 😀 ( @warmhugmailclub : I’m mailing you a print of it this month! 💌)

I’ve been playing with paper and prose for years...since I was a kid, really...but creating tangible “comfort content” for the @warmhugmailclub has become one of the greatest joys of my life. ☀️ It’s playful, it’s peaceful, and it’s so deeply fulfilling. Writing original stories & poems, creating coordinating artwork, and sharing them via snail mail with folks all over the world feels equal parts coming home and open road. 💌 Life can be so squirrely, but what a gift to be in business of brightening folks’ days and doing what makes me feel most alive! ✨

This collage was part of our Delivery # 9, which was sent last month, but I’ve got something *really* special planned for Delivery # 10 too, so if you love happy mail and aren’t already signed up, just comment “MAIL” and I’ll send you a DM with all the deets! 😀 by @letteredcottage

Ten years ago today, on 8/19/2016, this cutie and I became mama and son. ✨ We woke up before the sun to catch our plane, and flew across the same ocean we’ve visited every year since to celebrate each one of his ‘gotcha’ days . ☀️ Tonight, we stood on a 3rd floor balcony overlooking the beach where I introduced him to the ocean way back when. We ooh-ed and ahh-ed as we watched an enormous thunderstorm swirl in (mostly) above the water. I don’t think he’s ever seen one at a distance like that, and I don’t think either of us will ever forget it. The temp dropped nearly 25 degrees in a matter of minutes as it blew past and MAN was that exhilarating! 🌬️ We kept saying “Do you feel how COLD that is?!?!” as we held our hands in the air. 😄 Ten years together, but still experiencing firsts at almost every turn. I love it. I love HIM! 🥰❤️ by @letteredcottage

Countryside clippings. ✂️✨ Ah, how I love to play with green and blue! 🥰 Thinking about turning this one (and maybe others?) into a set of folded notecards. Anyone out there have experience with that? I’ll let you know what I learn after doing a little digging…❤️ by @letteredcottage

Swipe left for the before and (almost) after! ✨ I’m still trying to do decide if we should add a picture molding border (painted the same color as the walls) around his guitars to really “ground them” on that plane. 🤔 What do you think? Yay or nay? by @letteredcottage

I must have looked at two hundred different hoods while trying to decide how we should build and embellish ours. 😅 In the end, I decided to go with a little bit of trim, a few corbels, and an aged brass tipping rail, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. ✨ Comment BRASS if you’d like a link to the ager, and learn from my antsy experience: test ONE piece first, instead of immediately submerging ALL of them. 😂

COMFORT HOUSE

Here within this work of heart, beyond the quilted hill, sits a little comfort house nestled calm and still.
Not reached by map or GPS, a place you simply see,
just pause and kindly picture it, a place for you and me. Inside, nothing’s hurried, just blankets, books, and tea; the walls are washed in natural light, soft chairs wait patiently. No need to talk, or do a thing, just make yourself at home, and notice what you carried in feels lighter as you slow. And when you leave it carries on, in pieces cut and pasted, a daydream place to while away, where no small moment’s wasted. Then when the world grows loud again and pulls your mind too tight, just give this poem another read and let it set you right.

HOLY SMOKES, these polishing cloths are SO SATISFYING to use! 😀✨ I wish I had thought to film this BEFORE I cleaned everything, but it was just TOO ADDICTIVE and I couldn’t stop! 🤣 With just ONE SWIPE, you can lift away whatever is stuck to your windows, mirrors, and stainless appliances for a TOTALLY spotless and streak-free shine! 🤯 They’re reusable (just throw them in the washing machine) and come with a 100-wash, one-year guarantee. TOO COOL! 💃🏼
