This project was very special to me. The objective was to create something referencing time, the past, present and future. Naturally I thought of mail. Written word is as old as time. USPS is 251 years old and it is now at risk. “A severe financial crisis”. I wanted to make something promoting the importance of this form of communication, I want to help save it. “Keep Us Connected” with a blooming chrysanthemum front and center!

A little updated get to know me!

I am a student in WNC studying Art Education and have a passion for healing through Art.

I have a little small business of writing letters to people all over the country! It is my favorite thing to do and I’m officially getting paid to do so.

Fun facts about me: I love bluegrass and folk music. I play piano, guitar, sing and just started learning the banjo!

I hope to get my masters in Expressive Arts Therapy in the near future. In the mean time I am hosting craft nights, writing letters, taking multiple studio classes, and working two part time jobs locally!

I am living my dream and I want all of you to be apart of it.
Love and light,
Stella.

A little vulnerable post here!!! Not all lettersfromstella are sent. We’ve all lost friendships, I hope this resonates with you.

Also there are so many reasons a letter isn’t sent, some are heavier than others…but I keep them all… they mean a lot to me

I sat down and wrote three different letters to people who were going through the same thing. States apart and different ages but each of them had just lost someone close to them, their parent. Devastating loss but beautiful common ground. I wish I could ease all pain with a letter but that’s not a reality. Instead I hope to bring a moment of reflection, celebrating the life they’ve lost, and acknowledging the grief that’s ahead. The weight is lighter when you have people in your corner. So I hope to remind these folks they aren’t going through it alone. taken in Boone, North Carolina by @lettersfromstella
