When Abbas stops maintenance for their children and tries to silence her by pronouncing triple talaq, Bano takes the bold step of going to court under Section 125 CrPC.
What begins as a personal fight becomes a national battle over faith, women’s rights, and justice. Emraan Hashmi plays a razor-sharp, celebrated lawyer. 🚨 Lalbazaar (2020) — ZEE5 Crime Thriller Series
Description:
Lalbazaar is a 2020 Bengali/Hindi crime drama set in Kolkata, streaming on ZEE5. Directed by Sayantan Ghosal. Released 19 June 2020. 10 episodes, Season 1.
Plot: “Sleepless in Kolkata. Crime never takes a holiday.”
Lalbazaar is the name of Kolkata Police HQ. The series follows “the Homicide department of Lalbazaar police station” as they tackle the city’s darkest cases — serial killings, prostitution rackets, political murders, corruption inside the force.
Episode 1 — Sleepless in Kolkata: “A pregnant sex worker is murdered. Her body is sent to the morgue by officer Sabir Ahmed. At night, some people try to steal the body while being watched by Suranjan Sen.”
Each episode is a new case, but there’s a bigger thread: system rot, personal trauma, justice vs law. Cops are flawed, city is darker than it looks.
Vibe: Mirzapur meets Delhi Crime meets Feluda — but grittier, Bengali noir.
Genre: Drama, Action, Thriller | Rating: A/NC17
Cast: Sauraseni Maitra as Mira, Gaurav Chakrabarty as Suranjan Sen, Dibeyendu Bhattacharyya, Rob Dey, Subrat Dutt, Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Kaushik Sen
