⚠️WARNING Unprofessional post ahead⚠️
Doctors are HUMAN too.

As a WOMAN and a DOCTOR I stand by the women in vascular surgery and ALL the women in healthcare
with #medbikini.

Bikinis in our personal social media accounts are not unprofessional. My professionalism as Doctors is not determined by the clothes I wear or the size of my bikini outside the hospital.

Sexism is REAL and a problem to this day.

In a recent study a respectable vascular surgery journal published an article about unprofessional social media content among vascular surgeons. The study was written by 7 researchers (6 men in their 30’s and 1 female). Three made fake social media accounts to view the contents on the pages that physicians specify they were vascular surgeons on their social media accounts. The study had women and female surgeons as samples. They listed as unprofessional different things among the obvious like HIPPA laws that none of the subjects violated, other things like speaking about controversial subjects (racism, politics, abortion, etc), having alcoholic beverages on their pictures (and unprofessional attire (provocative BIKINIS and provocative HALLOWEEN COSTUMES).

How these investigators determine what pictures in bikini and Halloween costumes were provocative? Who evaluated those pictures? What is provocative for you? Is the tilting of the hips or head, the posture, the smile, what you “think” her eyes is telling you, the size of the bikini, the confidence just to mention some. What is it? If we’re talking about personal accounts and that they don’t go to work with a bikini or a halloween costume, why you call that unprofessional?
