It’s been a week and I’ve only just emotionally recovered from my week with Amerge. These guys invited me in: a musical comedian without a ton of experience in the mainstream or sync world. They took a chance on me, and I am so eternally grateful!! I co wrote 6 new songs, played w goats, rode a horse, ate yummy food, and made tons of new pals. I really hope some of this music gets picked up so I can show the world!! It’s so good and we had so much fun making it!!

Grateful for this life. This week really challenged my “I’m not good enough” mentality. I was a lil scurred by the whole thing, but I showed up and tried my gosh dang darndest, and it paid off. I’m proud of myself dammit! Thank you SOOO much to everyone involved!!!! New core memory unlocked!!!! 💖💖💖🐐🐐🐐🌈🌈🌈🎶🎶🎶 @amergemusic

And thank you to the sponsors for making this whole thing possible!! @providencesoundandvision @solidstatelogic @volanstequila @cascadetrails_jt @alohamoment @hukitchen @gotchaser taken in Joshua Tree, California by @levi.downey

Here are some of our favorite shots from the Amerge Residency 2026. It was an honor to put world-class microphones, studio monitors, outboard gear, and more in the hands of exceptional songwriters and help them sound their best as they created new music together for a whole week in magical Joshua Tree, CA. 🌵🎛️

We're proud to support @amergemusic in their journey to make the music industry more equitable for artists. A huge thanks to our partners for providing their incredible and inspiring gear:

@amergemusic residency 2026

I can say without a doubt that this was one of the best weeks I’ve had in all my years of making music. The love I felt, the real friends I’ve made, the inspiration to keep going, and the music we created together are things I will cherish for years to come.

a special thank you to @tzarsings for being an incredible collaborator in this art and being kind enough to invite me!

Also shout out to @providencesoundandvision @sslaudio @ksdstudiomonitors @heisermanaudio @wearenovation @ableton for gettin me through the week! I couldn’t have done it without you.

Thank you to the sponsors for supporting!

The future of music isn’t just about making great records. It’s about creating meaningful experiences and building community. 🎶

Levi Downey joined FYI Culture FYI’rs to collaborate with the community around music, live performance, and the future of creative collaboration—and now the full conversation is live.

This week: Levi Downey.

A conversation about music production, community, and creating spaces where artists and audiences can truly connect.

Joined by FYI Chief Growth Officer Julie Pilat, Levi—co-founder of the innovative live performance series The Rehearsal—shares the inspiration behind building what many call LA’s answer to NPR’s Tiny Desk: an intimate experience where music, storytelling, and culture come together.

And the conversation doesn’t stop there.

🎤 The Rehearsal returns this Friday at Mercado La Paloma—the perfect chance to experience the community Levi has been building firsthand.

🌊 Then join us at FWB Fest in Long Beach, July 31–August 2, where artists, producers, and creatives come together to collaborate, perform, and build what’s next.
Culture FYI’rs… we got the invite. Let’s show up. 🚗✨
With FYI, here’s how you can build your creative ecosystem:
