Boy it was great to be back at Smith’s Olde Bar, and even better to be back with the band!! Thank you so much to everyone who came to the “RANSOM” album release show. What a ride it was getting to play the entire album for the very first time and sharing this moment with my closest friends and family.

My band, thank you guys for making me sound better than I ever would without any of ya’ll. I can’t express how grateful I am for each one of you guys. @calebtmasters , it was great to have you back. After 10+ years, we still got it. Couldn’t have done any of this without you brother. @aceofslades , you came in with not playing a show like this in 8 years, and you crushed it. Our musical chemistry is unmatched. @zbut , thank you for giving your time and always blowing my mind with your playing. You are one of the most generous people I know, and I’m so thankful for you.

“RANSOM” is not just the title of my upcoming album. Many people think it’s my last name, but it’s actually my middle name that I’ve inherited from my grandfather and grandfathers before him. It’s a name that has been passed through many generations, and to hold that name is not just a privilege, but also something that I’ve tired to honor as best as I can through my songwriting and throughout my music career thus far. I wouldn’t be who I am without my family, and a big part of this album is dedicated to those who raised me.
Some people might say “RANSOM” is my self-titled album, and part of that could be true. It feels like it is in a lot of ways, and holds a lot of that weight to show who I am to new and returning listeners. I’ve learned a lot about myself throughout the past 2 years writing and making this album. I really hope you see the growth, hear something you can relate to and know that it’s okay to see that finding yourself can take longer than you realize. You never stop learning about who you are no matter how far in this journey you get.
