On the final stretch of this laborious and highly experimental piece. A mix of clay bodies, industrial materials, and hand forged accouterments. A wood firing will soon transform the bisqued ceramic into beautifully textured and vivid sections. Final assembly will follow soon after, the piece will stand about 5 feet tall. It’ll be on display in MIAD’s Wallway gallery for a small student show starting February 24th until March 1st.

“…And if they have not died, they are still alive today.” - Common German story ending phrase, akin to “and they lived happily ever after” by @levisjohns

Cervical vertebrae C1-C7 at 2.5 human scale, making it 7.5 inches tall at the moment. Putting the spine on hold for a little while - it’ll likely be several months before it’s cast, and a year before it’s installed in a larger sculpture. by @levisjohns
