In January–February, I spent time in Sri Lanka working on stories across different parts of the country. On the southern coast, I got to follow the daily lives of local surfers — where surfing is both leisure and livelihood, shaping community, identity and the possibility of building a future.

Markku Anttonen has logged more flight hours on the Saab J 35 Draken than any other pilot in Finland. On 6th of October 1995, he flew the Finnish Air Force’s final Draken B-version flight, DK-206, from Rovaniemi to Helsinki-Vantaa. Thirty years later, the pilot and the aircraft met again at the Finnish Aviation Museum.

Markku Anttosella on enemmän Saab J 35 Draken -lentotunteja kuin kenelläkään muulla Suomessa. Hän lensi Ilmavoimien viimeisen Draken B -version lennon DK-206:lla Rovaniemeltä Helsinki-Vantaalle 6. lokakuuta 1995. Kolmekymmentä vuotta myöhemmin lentäjä ja kone kohtasivat uudelleen Suomen ilmailumuseossa.
