Looking back at my personal style, the pattern was already there: structure, strong shoulders, femininity and a little drama. Sometimes your brand identity isn’t something you suddenly create. Three things every emerging fashion entrepreneur should understand: 1. Cost of goods: What does it actually cost to produce each piece? 2. Profit margin: How much revenue remains after your costs? 3. Break-even point: How many pieces do you need to sell before your business starts making money? And here’s something worth remembering: Breaking even is the starting point, not the goal.
