My plays celebrate and honor our queer ancestors, and offer diverse roles that explore the imperfections and beauty of trans and queer people of the past. I have had the extreme honor of having Let’s Misbehave produced in full at the Cambridge Foundry 2024, followed by The Dutch Castaway at Boston Fringe 2026. They can both be found on New Play Exchange. @newplayexchange by @lewdalfred

Meet our magical cast!✨🌹

Lewd Alfred Douglas (he/him) has been performing boylesque since 2010 in Prague, Vienna, London, Berlin, and all across the USA. He is an award winning playwright devoted to uncovering queer and trans history with pieces such as Let’s Misbehave and The Dutch Castaway (People’s Choice Winner, Boston Fringe). Now based in Salem, his art is always a love letter to queer ancestors. Follow him at @lewdalfred for upcoming projects and current plays.

Come see if you can answer his riddles or have a sonnet whispered to you under the hum of the feast, November 12 and 13 only at The Allston Abbey! Tickets on sale now via the link in our bio. 🌹 by @lewdalfred

Come get your sad, gay sailors at @loov_the . Our 40 minute queer period drama, The Dutch Castaway” written by Lawrence Gullo and directed by Cas Berta, makes its fully-staged Somerville debut this weekend 8/14-8/16. See it virtually from anywhere or come experience it live; both types of tickets are in our bio, me hearties. 🎟️⚓️

After this indie production swept The People’s Choice at Boston Fringe this past May, The Loov has generously invited us to be the very first work of theater performed in their stunning warehouse studio space. We are so excited to transform it into the desolate island of Ascension to share this achingly beautiful story of 18th century queerness on the high seas with more audiences.

The upcoming live performances feature pre-show shanties by local musicians and talkbacks afterwards with the artists and historians behind the project. It’s going to be a very briny time. If you like sailors gazing tenderly at one another, this is not to be missed.

Cute memes for our mateys. 🌊

Come see “The Dutch Castaway” in Somerville this weekend - August 14th, 15th, and 16th. It’s an independently produced queer period drama that is heavy on the yearning and angst. Let us break your heart and then stitch it lovingly back up again, you salty sea dogs. Tickets in bio 🎟️
