Miraculously, on Wednesday 2/19/25, my life was forever changed. The love of my life, the beacon in my darkness, the center of my universe, my soulmate, my joy, my shadow, my 24/7 partner, and the reason I rise every morning, Atticus Magoo, transitioned during surgery, leaving an indelible mark on my heart. Though I’m all too familiar with grief, the profound heartbreak, overwhelming pain, and physical sickness of losing my constant companion are transforming me in ways I never thought possible. Atti instinctively knew when and where I hurt and how to comfort me. His breathtaking beauty and gentle heart and spirit brought our entire neighborhood together, fostering connections among people and animals alike. All joked that Atticus was the Mayor of Yorke Court, and indeed, the entire neighborhood mourned his passing. Even the wildlife are grieving, as the family of 15 deer await their walking partner, missing the guidance of Atti’s leash glowing in the dark. All who knew him fell deeply in love, but I was blessed to be his chosen one, sharing a bond that transcended words. Having had dogs my whole life, I can attest that the love I felt from Atti was unparalleled. They say that towards the end of a dog’s life, they remain by our side, radiating love and devotion. As I navigate this heartache, I find solace in believing that God mercifully chose this path to spare us both the anguish of separation. I’m eternally grateful for every moment we shared, and I pray that one day we’ll be reunited, with Atti waiting for me, as he always did. by @lex891

After weeks of just a terrible time at both jobs we had a great time at NJJDA -Atlantic city. Thank you all that attended the conference -there are no better people to spend time with than those that care about helping others❤️ by @lex891
