@nikenyc trainer ⚡️ Just reading that line leaves me speechless. Growing up playing volleyball all I would wear was Nike. In my mind there was no other brand that represented top athletes. Never would highschool Lexa imagine having the opportunity to be one of their newest trainers in New York City. It is such an honor to be apart of a company that represents so many strong inspiring individuals, and to be able to stand beside them! Moving to the amazing city that is New York, where it is said that anything and everything is possible even your wildest dreams has a whole new meaning now.. I wish I could go back and squeeze the younger me, tell her never stop chasing those wild dreams. Because those wild dreams will come true. Fight for the life you want, and be true to yourself along the way! ⚡️⚡️⚡️ #niketrainer #nikenyc #nike by @lexa.henwood
PT2: RACE DAY SHOES I am an immensely sentimental person. Something I have always done across my athletic career is carry something with me in a game or race that grounds me to my why. My why behind this race was my people. My family and friends whose words of encouragement, smiles, hugs, and conversations in between carried me through. The people who when the race got rough would never stop believing in me so I couldn’t stop either. I am nothing without the people around me. As much as this race was for me, this race was for you too❤️‍🔥 by @lexa.henwood

If you know me, you know I love video games. And I know what you’re thinking… that has nothing to do with this post. But it does. When I was young, I was extremely self-conscious. I was shy and tried to shrink myself as much as possible. So when I got dressed for an event, my outfits became a way to create a different version of me. A version with a little more confidence that I could put on, even if only for a few hours. Characters like Lara Croft shaped me and inspired me. In a way, they became characters I could shape-shift into… strong, confident, fearless, and completely unafraid to take up space. It wasn’t until I got a little older that I realized confidence wasn’t about dressing the part or becoming someone else. It was about embracing all the parts of myself. The quiet and reserved. The outgoing and energetic. The goofy. The serious. The soft. The strong. And everything in between. Because confidence isn’t one version of you. It’s being able to own every version. And now, when I look back at the characters I loved growing up, I realize they were role models, yes. But maybe they were also little pieces of me that I was learning how to recognize. I wasn’t becoming the characters. I was learning to become more fully myself. by @lexa.henwood
Last month I had the honor to be a part of @slimthick.nyc 2nd Annual Women’s discussion night alongside these lovely ladies💜 To be in a space created to cultivate community and conversation around women’s mental health and how community and training intersect is beautiful. @slimthick.nyc yet again knocks it out of the park supporting badass women and our mental health and @wortsey leading the conversation is truly magic to witness. In a world where connection is mostly through a phone it’s even more special to fill a room with wonderful individuals all coming together as one. Thank you to everyone who showed up, supported and participated in the beautiful conversations. This isnt possible without you. 🫶🏼 by @lexa.henwood
