: As I hopped off the afterschool bus as a small child, my grandpa (Tito) would be on the corner of his street, awaiting to walk me to his house. He had already retired by then, but while I ate the food my grandmother made for me and finished my homework, I'd always hear him working outside. From his welding projects to tending his garden of various plants, he showed me after the work day is done, the drive always remains to continue your personal pursuits.
And because of his exceptional work ethic, I constantly restrained myself from educating him on what I learned smoking could do to a person's body. While my actual father smoked as well and had heard my rant of "smoker's lungs", I didn't have a lingering negative connotation with the smell of cigarettes in the air because it'd remind me of Tito. I got to experience the parallels of two people with the same habit, only one showed enough positive qualities to, not mask his, but be an example of what a person can make of themselves with the good and despite the bad.
I'm very thankful to have Tito still around today, he was and is everything I could ask for in a father and am very grateful he helped the T.M.C. team take on our coffee cart. And when I thanked him today, he responded with "lo aprendieron", but I don't think he realizes I wouldn't have learned as much as I did without him.

: In a restaurant parking lot, I hopped on a call with Nestor and Andi to understand what they were looking for in a wedding photographer. One of their main requirements was simple: someone who was able to travel to Waco, Texas.
Now, I’ve never been to Waco, Texas, I vaguely remember thinking about going to college up there, but
other than that, I didn’t know what that city had in store for me, but I was totally game.
With the assistance of JJ, I got to shoot Andi + Nestor’s wedding day on film (JJ got to second shoot!!!)
and finally travel for a client wedding. A thank you is in order
for the bride and the groom! Without them, I wouldn’t have been able to have the little adventures I like to
have and continue documenting love through my lense. Everyone, wish them well in their new chapter!

: Goodness, when I told my social circle that I was going to shoot Miranda's wedding, I had to explain that she's been my client for about 5 years now and it hit me. I truly couldn't be more thankful for her entrusting me with capturing her and Johnny's wedding day on film, she was one of the first clients I took on that was strictly traditional development.
And thank God that rainstorm made the day even more wholesome. Here's Miranda and Johnny on 35mm and medium format...and here's to growing up.
